The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Easter Egg Colors & Link Up On the Edge #291

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

The theme for April is Easter Egg Colors

*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Now let’s check out some of the favorite (or least favorite) Easter egg colored outfits submitted this month for lots of Easter outfit inspiration.

“I think I associate Easter the most with purple and yellow. And as I
almost never wear yellow, it had to be purple. I have showed you a lot
of purple outfits on my blog lately, and in real life!, so this is a
older outfit with my gorgeous lilac ankle boots! The skirt was a
Good-Bye as it was too snug but the sweater and ankle boots are Good
Buys!”

“This outfit is a 50/50 split. The bright 60’s shirt and shift are
definite keepers. And Great Buys — the shirt was free, from a friend,
and the shift was secondhand for $25. The pastel tights were a
disappointment (in 2013). This is my own artwork, and I used a company
that required a printing of 6 pairs. They came out WAY too pastel for
me. I managed to resell 4 pairs, and the remaining two I will upcycle
into ‘yarn’. The Mary Jane clogs were a super bad buy (in 2012). I call
them torture clogs, they are too small and make my feet numb after about
an hour. Why do we do this to ourselves?”

“I bought this bateau pima cotton tee from Talbots a few years ago. I
knew I wanted to do something to make it a little bit special. I then
found a piece of crewel embroidery I’d found (I embroidered it in
1976!). I used that as a model for the embroidery I eventually did on
this tee! I think it turned out rather well!”

“When I came across this Figure Graphic Tee on SheIn, I was immediately
interested. It’s a little out of my norm, but I love the pastel colors
and abstract print – reminds me of a painting. While it’s a comfortable
fit, it’s really a size too small (doesn’t come in a 2X) and shorter
than my preferred length. So sad to give this beauty up because I really
like the print, but I’m saying Good-Bye to it.”

“There’s times I love the pastels for Easter and other times that I
prefer the bright colors. Can you tell which one I chose for this fun??
LOL”

“I purchased the sweater early in the fall and it has been such a good
buy! I have already decided I’m buying it in another color this coming
fall. Since it’s still mostly cold here, I am still wearing my sweaters
and jeans but trying to stick to lighter- spring like colors. This pale
seafoam is one of my favorites and reminds me of Easter eggs for sure.
Paired with my favorite flare leg jeans from Stitch Fix it was the
perfect early spring outfit.”

“I am honestly on the fence about this blouse. I don’t hate it, but I
don’t love it either.”

“I bought this orange dress for spring-summer, it’s light, breezy and protects me from the harsh Australian sun. I love its print of big leaves of orange spread over pink background. When I saw it on a rack at Zara, it made me smile. Same goes for the matching sunglasses. When I saw them on display in the window I just new that I have to have them. This outfit has a happy uplifting vibe about it hence I wear it quite a lot.”

“Here’s my offering for the latest challenge – Easter Eggs colours.
Was recently gifted this dress and adore both the style and colours in it – it can be dressed for cooler weather – with black boots or like this casual look with a vibrant jean jacket, cool bag and trainers.”

“This pastel pink and purple tie dye shirt reminds me of cotton candy. But it also reminds me of colored Easter eggs done in the swirly, messy way of my childhood. It is a super soft and comfortable top, too. I got it from Torrid last spring and will be wearing it again this spring. It is definitely a Good Buy.”
