My Mary Kay Makeover & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #69
They say there is a first time for everything. I say great things happen outside of your comfort zone. So here it is…me going way outside of my comfort zone and doing something I have never done on my blog before…I am going to share a picture of myself without makeup. Brace yourselves for it…I am so not comfortable with this! But if I am going to share my Mary Kay makeover with you all, I guess I need to share my starting point…my face sans makeup! *This is not a sponsored post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. So there it is…I faced my fears…

20 Things That Make Me Happy & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #68
In light of my more serious and somewhat depressing content from yesterday’s post, I decided to turn my face to the sunshine (wherever it is currently hiding) and share with you all some of the things in my life that make me happy. Because today is #SpreadTheKindness Day here On the Edge…and sometimes just sharing our happy things with the world is one way of throwing kindness like confetti. (FYI…confetti does not make me happy. I actually kind of despise confetti. Such a mess.) *This is not a sponsored post. Without further adieu and in no particular order, here are 20 things that make me happy. 1. My kids. When…

Feel the Love & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #67
I am without outfit photos and without a photographer this week so I had to resort to the old tripod and remote method which never, ever results in the same quality photos for some reason. Plus I can never get quite as comfortable as I do when I have someone on the other side of the camera making me smile and laugh. My, how things have changed from the beginning of my blog when I was only comfortable taking selfies. But I am choosing to ignore the poor quality of my photos and focus on the fact that I am channeling and feeling the love these days. All the love.…

It’s All About People Helping People & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #66
If you haven’t heard already, my website was hacked last week and what a freaking nightmare it was. But I have to say that by the end of the entire process, there was most definitely a silver lining to that storm cloud. So let me tell you the story… A few weeks ago, I noticed that every time I tried to log into my WordPress, it was telling me that my password was incorrect. So I would change the password and get back to work. Then the next time I attempted to log in with my new password, I would get the failed log in error due to an incorrect…

Inspired by Granola and Grace & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #65
Do you all know my friend Chrissy yet? She writes the blog Granola and Grace and she is the most down-to-earth, kind, supportive, caring, and absolutely amazing person…like ever in the whole land of blogging. Although I haven’t had the opportunity to meet Chrissy in real life yet (I will one of these days, for sure, because I will make sure that we make it happen at some point), Chrissy and I do chat via email and through our blogs and other social media frequently, helping each other in any way we can. I am honored to include her in my list of blogging besties! *This is not a sponsored…

DNA Discoveries & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #63
As I am preparing to head into New York City tomorrow for The Forever Fierce Meet Up, I am writing this post on Monday afternoon sitting at my best friend, Jane’s, dining room table. She lives in my home state of Pennsylvania and has very generously allowed me stay in her spare room while I have been cruising around the tri-state area for the past 3 days reconnecting with some old friends. Today, I decided to just hang at her house and catch up on some blogging work. She is in the other room on her computer working on genealogy projects. *This is not a sponsored post. As always, all…

Inspired by Pink Sole & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #62
Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had the most amazing weekend! We spent Saturday evening with great friends, eating, drinking, and laughing until snorts were heard! Yeah, that would have been me. I might have even peed my pants a little. And nearly sprayed wine out of my mouth when an unexpected guffaw caught me off guard. But hey, if you can’t be ridiculous in front of your closest friends, what’s the point really? *This is a sponsored post. This necklace was provided to me for purposes of this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. On Sunday, the husband and I headed out in…

Fabulous Link Ups Where I Link Up & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #61
Blog parties and link ups are a great way to network within the blogging community. They are a wonderful avenue to discovering amazing blogs that you may not otherwise have found in the seemingly endless ocean of blogs on the internet. As of 2017, it was estimated that there are over 440 million blogs worldwide. So how in the world do you tap into your favorites in a niche that is interesting and beneficial to you? *This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. I mean, you can’t possibly read them all. You can’t even read all the ones in your favorite genre. Actually,…

Women’s Heart Health Month & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #60
Although National Wear Red Day has passed (it was February 2), the entire month of February has been designated National Heart Health Month as a reminder for everyone to focus on their hearts and get their friends and families involved in this awareness initiative towards prevention. While National Heart Health Month is an American designated month of awareness, it is important to recognize that cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke, is the leading cause of death worldwide. Heart disease knows no boundaries and can strike anyone anywhere in the world. In an effort to do our part in raising awareness, Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood, with her kind heart…

The Chapter Book My Children Love & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #59
There is a chapter book that my children have recently discovered. I use the term “discovered” loosely, as I essentially said, “Hey, kids, we are going to read this book. Mommy went to school with the author and illustrator and I think you will really like his drawings and the story.” I have had this book since it is original publication in 2009 before I even had children. I read it myself then, laughing all the way through at the irony and sarcasm while being in awe of the amazing comic book style artwork that adorns nearly every page. The combination of chapter book and comic book is a unique…
