Styling Tall Boots for Fall & Your Own Twist Link Up #2
Remember my post, Running on Empty? I told you all I had about a million collaborations coming up…and here is my third one this week. This one was Monica’s brainchild and it’s a fun one! We have Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood joining us co-host this month. Last month, we brought to you Fashion Icon Halloween Costumes and this month we are sharing our fall outfits featuring tall boots.
As I stated in yesterday’s edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you know I love my combat boots. And this over the knee version that I got from ShoeDazzle last year are some of my absolute favorites. They are perfect over skinny jeans, with skirts or dresses, and go perfectly with the edgy vibe of cut off shorts and tights.
Since I was styling my favorite fall combination of tights and shorts, I decided to go with one of my favorite color combinations of black, white, and red. And of course, since I was feeling pretty bad ass in these killer combat boots, nothing other than my Wonder Woman tee shirt would do.
And with all the badassery of Wonder Woman, over the knee combat boots, and a plaid bomber jacket, I felt compelled to get in touch with my inner child and go have some fun at the playground. We are never too old to embrace our immaturity and the kid inside!
When was the last time you really let your inhibitions go and threw all your f*cks right out the window? I seem to be doing that with much more frequency in these midlife years. Because life is short, so why the hell not?
So now it’s your turn, show us your tall boots and your fun side! Join the link up below! And be sure to go visit Monica and check out the details of her fabulous outfit, too.
I had to share Kathrine’s tall boots look from last month’s Your Own Twist Link Up. I absolutely love this outfit and her amazing layering with all these beautiful fall colors.
Want to use the style prompt for your own blog post to link up, just follow the schedule! Next month we will be featuring our red dresses! But feel free to link up any post you would like!
Keeping it on the edge,

Oh my goodness, Brooke, you rock! The playground is more fun when no kids are present, in my opinion! Haha. We went early in the morning while it was empty and kid-free. Way more fun! But I guess the kids are fun, too.

Love this outfit so much, it is very you. But you know what, on a day when I feel super bold and extra sassy, I can see myself wearing it too. You have a large and wonderful collection of boots and these OTK Laceup ones are some of my favorites. Also your mixed media glen plaid jacket and that newsboy cap are so adorable and both can be worn many times and ways throughout the holidays! Even though you have worn many fantastic layered looks this Fall, Shel, this is MY FAVORITE! So glad I joined you and Monica today. Post is finally live, come take a peak. =)

Aw, thanks, Suzy! Clothes just make me happy! They always have and I used to fight against it as if it were something too frivolous for an intellectual person. But I have learned to embrace it and just go with it. And what a blast I have with life now that I accept all the parts of myself! You are fabulous, my friend. Love you!

That makes my blogger heart sing, Jodie! I had a lady come into the consignment shop a while back when I was wearing shorts with tights and boots. I ran into her a few weeks ago and she said that she had copied it as well a few times already and never would have thought to wear such a thing if not for me! Love, love, love! All of this and you, my friend!

I have one pair of black riding type boots but I rarely think to wear them.. mostly because I’m never loving how they look with what I’ve picked out to wear. Such a cute outfit idea.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Joanne, thanks for stopping by! Have you tried your black riding boots just over skinny jeans or leggings? I find that works best for riding boots. Or tights and a short skirt, dress, or shorts! I hope you have a fantastic day!

Oh what a bummer about your boots, Karren! Well, you need a pair of flat boots then, my friend! And I will for sure be linking up at some point. Thanks for popping by. Have a fantastic weekend!
