Spring Style Guide
The weather is getting warmer and we’re all excited about the sunshine and happiness it brings. If you need a wardrobe refresher, here are some great style tips to get you ready for the change in seasons.
Wardrobe Staples
It’s easy to put spring outfits together when you have wardrobe staples in your closet like sundresses, cardigans, colorful accessories, sleeveless tops, and spring prints like stripes, polka dots, and florals.
Once you have these basics, you can mix and match separates all you want to incorporate seasonal elements into your outfit while still dressing for the weather outside. Layering helps your outfits remain versatile so you can stay comfortable all day long.
Mix and Match
You don’t have to match or coordinate. Mix up your florals with your polka dots and wear them at the same time. As long as they are in the same colour family, you can combine these contrasting prints to add dimension to your outfit. Pull the look together with some texture like a denim jacket.
Layering
Layering is the key to your wardrobe during any changing season. One day it’s warm and the next it feels like winter again. It’s cool in the morning, but warms up in the afternoon. Sometimes, we don’t know what to expect, but we can prepare for anything by using cardigans or blazers to spice up our outfits and remain comfortable, no matter what Mother Nature has in store.
Versatile Pieces
There are many pieces that transcend the season. A chambray button down shirt can be worn over a sundress, as a shirt, under a sweater, or as a t-shirt dress over leggings. You always want to keep these items in your closet when winter is over so you can vary your look and wear it multiple times.
Accessorize
Dress up a basic look with bright accessories to welcome spring. Bright shoes and handbags are a great way to add a pop of colour, and you’ll look so chic with large costume jewelry to kick your look up a few notches.
What other styling tips do you have to help transition your wardrobe between seasons?

Great ideas my friend. I am a layering queen, only because I’m always cold…haha. Yet it creates super fun outfits!!
It’s thanks to you I got the idea to layer shorts and tights!! I’m all about that now!

Thanks, Jodie! I am right there with you…always cold! Between this arctic climate and perimenopause cold flashes, I have become quite a master of layering! It finally was warm enough last week that I did wear tights with shorts again! But my husband was not available to take photos, so I have none to share. I am so glad that you love that styling tip and wear it frequently! Have a fabulous day, my friend.

Thanks for sharing these tips! I always forget to wear my chambray shirt the same way I wear my denim jacket and I should! I just changed purses to a new fun hobo one for the next few weeks (I don’t change them too often) and I have a couple more spring ones I need to sport this season. I do wear my bracelets much more in spring and summer because you can actually see them with the shorter layers!

Mireille, thank you so much for stopping by! I have a bunch of different chambray shirts in different washes and I don’t wear them as often as I should either. They do make great layering pieces! And I rarely wear bracelets ever any more unless I am going out. They tend to get in my way at work. I hope you have a fabulous day, my friend!

I love your taste in boots, I saw you in some pink ones that were ab fab too. Lots of nice color here although the black pinstripe pants are one of my favs. I’m not finding much in the way of spring fashion I like for me right now especially looking for a jacket or cardigan.

Jeanna, thank you so much! I have quite a thing, an addiction actually, for boots! My favorite Spring attire is kimonos for layering. I hope you find something that you like that will elevate your wardrobe! Have a fantastic day.

So many good tips, especially the layering at this time of year. I love how you layered that moto jacket over the floral dress. Edgy meets feminine.
