Shelbee on the Rags: “Woodland” Shaggy Raggy Garland
As I stated yesterday, I am going to be sharing lots of recently completed raggery projects over the next few posts. So here is the next one…a shaggy raggy garland in woodland colors.
The idea for this garland came from a small pile of clothing leftover from some donated bags. The majority of the leftovers happened to be in this green and brown color palette with lots of really cool textures including satins, tweeds, and various types of knits from delicate to chunky.
So I gathered all the greens and tans and browns into my rag palette (and forgot to take a photo again) and created the “Woodland” Shaggy Raggy Garland.
I really liked this garland on my fireplace, but Archie suggested that it would look great in my green dining room hanging above the doorway like the rainbow garland is hanging above the living room doorway. So I moved the “Woodland” Shaggy Raggy Garland to the dining room and hung the “Café au Lait” Shaggy Raggy Garland on the fireplace.
I found the woodland color palette striking enough that I made a second one that is for sale.

Shelbee, I love these garlands and how they create such a cozy, boho space. With the addition of saving textiles form the junk pile, you are truly becoming an Earth Mother!

Oh my goodness, Marsha, this comment just warmed my heart. Thank you so much. I am making these things way faster than I know what to do with them. So if you want a garland for your house, I will be happy to send you one or make you a custom one as a gift. Email me if that is something you are interested in! Happy Easter, my friend.
