Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Rainy Days & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #750
April Showers, indeed! The snow is still lingering in our forecast but it has fizzled down to mostly flurries. The warmer temperatures are starting to sporadically appear but that has just led us straight into the rainy season, otherwise known as mud season in the North Country. So for April’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, we are shining the light on our rainy day gear!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?
The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.
Remember anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a brief description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. You just need a camera and an email address! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post.
Everyone is invited to join us in April to share your favorite (or least favorite) Rainy Day Gear. All you have to do is snap a photo or two and email us with a short description so you can be featured in our Good Buy/Good-Bye Book on April 15, 2025.
When I think of rainy day gear, what comes to mind is trench coats, rain boots, and umbrellas. To inspire you to join us for this round, I am sharing some of my best (or possibly worst) wet weather jackets, galoshes, and umbrellas.

One might think I should have more things to accommodate all the rainy days we get around here, but I generally just stay inside whether it’s raining or not. I have umbrellas but I rarely use them, always following the brilliant advice of my late godmother, “You don’t need an umbrella. Just run.”
If you would like to share your Rainy Day Gear with us, please send your photos and descriptions to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com by the 10th of April so we can put you in the spotlight. You are welcome to send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs.
*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.

I don’t even have a fashionable umbrella!! But we do have a lot of rain, not this year really, luckily! Enjoy your weekend!

My favorite Blackwatch plaid umbrella broke a few years ago and that nearly broke my heart! I keep a few umbrellas in my car but I rarely use them. They seem to be more hassle than help anyway. Have a fabulous weekend, my friend!

It’s been more snow than rain here too. Thanks for the party.

It really starts to wear on one’s mental health, doesn’t it? It is rainy all weekend here, turning to flurries on Monday, followed by more rain. I must learn to appreciate the rain more! Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

I’m not sure I’ve ever talked about my rainy day gear, so this is a great opportunity! Thanks for the feature too 🙂

Oh yay! I am excited to see what you wear for rainy days, Sally, and I bet the accompanying story will be wonderful, too!

Oh, this is a tough one. I only have one raincoat, and it’s just a boring blue one I got for my trip to Ireland last summer. Thanks for the link up, Shelbee!

I think this is a tough one, too! I had an amazing Blackwatch plaid umbrella for over 25 years that recently broke and I was so sad. I know I have it on my blog somewhere but I cannot find it. Plus Mercury is in retrograde and it keeps making my website go wonky! Arrgh. Send us your boring blue raincoat with Ireland in the background!!!

I love your rainy day gear. I don’t have much. I have an old umbrella. LOL. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.

Thanks, Patrick! I hope you have a great week ahead! Hopefully, you won’t need your umbrella. Apparently I need to get my snow boots out again because we have a big storm coming tonight. Ugh.
