Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Ballet Flats
One would think that with the arrival of April in the northern hemisphere, we would start experiencing some springlike temperatures perfect for switching out our footwear from winter boots to something less bulky…like Ballet Flats or Ballerina Shoes. But it is still very much winter-like where I live. In an attempt to make it feel more like spring, we have chosen this lightweight footwear style as the prompt for April’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book.
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?
The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.
Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.
So won’t you please join us for April by sending some photos and descriptions of your favorite (or least favorite) Ballet Flats or Ballerina Shoes to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com by April 10, 2023. You are welcome to submit more than one photo if you would like features on both of our blogs.
I have always like the dainty feminine style of flat ballerina inspired shoes, but I have never really found this style of footwear to be very comfortable on my concrete caressers. However, that has not stopped me from purchasing many pairs of ballerina shoes over the years. And while I don’t really wear them much, I haven’t yet cleaned out my massive shoe collection. I am hoping this post is enough to motivate me to action and rid myself of the things I no longer want or need. But before I get to the clean out, let’s have a look at some of the ballet flats that I have worn over the years…mostly in complete discomfort.
Green Floral Ballet Flats
Black Lace Up Ballet Flats
Black Velvet Ballet Flats
Red Lace Up Ballet Flats
Red Pointed Toe Ballet Flats
Black Bow Ballet Flats
Black Ballet Flats with Patent Toe Cap
Pale Blue Lace Up Ballet Flats
Red Patent Ballet Flats
Black Mary Jane Ballet Flats
Pale Blush Lace Up Ballet Flats
Nude Textured Ballet Flats
Yellow Canvas Mary Jane Ballet Flats
Bronze Ballet Flats
As you can see, I wore ballet flats much more often in the first few years of my blog and not so much anymore. I hope this little round up of ballerina shoes has inspired you to join us this month for a fun fashion gallery of flat footwear. Remember to send us your photos by April 10 to be included in our post.

Very nice. Ballet flats were a staple in women’s closets when I was in high school. Looking very nice.

Aw, thanks, Patrick! I wish I found them to be more comfortable because I do think they are cute as heck.

Is there any style you don’t have a huge pile from? Lol. What a collection. I had to buy a pair for this episode!

Hahaha! I do not have a pile of combat/cargo pants! I really need to clean out the giant bin in my basement that is filled with my ballet flats. I think I may actually tackle that today!

Such cute shoes, but this is another one I’ll have to pass on as I just can’t wear them! Don’t have a single pair in my closet!

Thanks, Marsha! I probably shouldn’t have any pairs either because they really are terribly uncomfortable! I am going to tackle the bin of ballet flats in my basement today! I will try to take photos of them all before I ditch them!
