Tomorrow is Independence Day in the United States. Tradition includes cook outs in the back yard and wearing patriotic outfits in the colors of our national flag. Did you know that red, white, and blue are the most common colors appearing on national flags all around the world? To kick off the holiday weekend, I am sharing some of my favorite red, white, and/or blue outfits that would be perfectly festive to celebrate the anniversary of our nation’s independence.
What are your plans for the 4th of July weekend?
And now your featured favorites from two weeks ago.
Moumous of La Moumous shared a gorgeous teal maxi dress in her post, 10 Ways to Style Your Maxi Summer Dress. I am all about loose and comfortable maxi dresses this summer and Moumous has offered some really fun styling tips to keep it interesting all season long. Plus I am absolutely crushing on the color and style of her dress.

Mireille of Chez Mireille shared her post, My New DIY Firepit! I am all about this beautiful work of construction that Mireille built by herself. We are in the process of brainstorming some back yard update ideas and a fire pit is on our list. I may end up with the exact same one…except I am going to ask my husband to build it rather than do it myself. I am not nearly as handy as Mireille!
Brenda of Ruby Hem Ministries shared an important message that is very near to my heart in her post, A Note to the Church from a PTSD Survivor. We all need to be more empathic and understanding of mental health issues, especially communities and organizations that have established missions for supporting and uplifting their members. A little bit of compassion goes a long way. I applaud Brenda for speaking up and out on mental health topics.
I am a midlife woman, wife, and stay-at-home mother of 2 boys and 2 cats. I have a passion for helping other women feel fabulous in the midst of this crazy, beautiful life.
Wow you have quite the round up of red, white, and blue looks! It’s fun to look back over the years and see so many different outfits and hairstyles! Radical Ralphie is as cute as can be! Hope you have a happy 4th!

Thank you so much, Kellyann! I do like creating these round up posts so I can see how much has changed over the years as well. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Now that’s a lot of 4th fashion inspiration! Love the red dresses especially. Thanks so much for the link up Shelbee and have a wonderful holiday weekend!
Girl you are on fire!!! Love these looks- rocking it so hard!! LOve the black and white ones best (especially the white tights and booties! Have a great weekend, beautiful:) xx
Thanks so much, Gail! I believe we chose red, white, and blue as our flag colors to honor the UK once we gained our independence. If you search for flag colors, it is really interesting to learn the reasons behind why nations choose certain colors for their flags. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.
Thanks so much, Patrick! It is fun to look back although some of the photos from even just a few years ago make me cringe! Haha. I hope you have a lovely holiday weekend as well!
I am sure you could make the firepit on your own! But why not get hubby to do the heavy work, lol! I need to get some pics done tonight for a collab with Ada: 4th of July outfits of my own. http://www.chezmireillefashiontravel.com
Thanks, Mirielle! I am sure I could manage the building of the fire pit, but I don’t really want to! Haha. I look forward to your newest post with July 4th outfits! I hope you have a great weekend.
So many cute outfits SHELBEE! Love that a lot of these feature either blue denim cutoff shorts or a blue denim jacket as I see them both as two totally Americana patriotic items. In my last fashion post I was festive in a blue denim skirt, did you see it?! Love your 1st, 2nd and 5th looks and Ralphie is a patriotic cutie! I love Jaymie’s outfit too. Oh and Momous’ blog – her name is Iris.
Thanks so much, Ada! I love all the denim looks as well for the 4th of July for exactly that reason…it does seem so very American. I will head over to check out your newest posts as well. Oh, and Iris actually does prefer to be called Moumous. At least that is what she told me! I hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks, Laura! We have old family photos hanging in my dining room from when my hair was super short, but it still shocks me when I see it in blog photos! I don’t think I will ever go that short again. I liked it, but I am really enjoying long hair these days. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
So many cute looks Shelbee! I especially love the first one with the blue floral top. It’s patriotic yet unexpected! Also, the shots with the fence are too cool. I’ll have to try that!
Wow, so many cute outfits for the 4th! I love the blue and white looks too and then you can just add a red lip or toes. Red is such a great color on you too! I am probably wearing the look I had for THT. casual in jean shorts as it is hot hot hot today! Ralphie is ready for the Holiday too!
Have a great weekend! I do look forward to spending time with my sis and niece, along with mom and chowing down!

Jess, thanks so much! I ended up wearing the blue and white striped maxi dress but with red accents and a red, white, and blue fireworks shirt layered on top. The weather yesterday was warm but comfortable as long as I stayed in the shade. Today I must recover from drinking too much beer and staying up much too late. I hope you are enjoying time spent with your sister, your niece, and your mom!
I can’t believe that it’s more than halfway through 2020 already too, Shelbee! I didn’t think sheltering in place will make the time go by faster. I thought wrong. It’s gone by so quickly. You have so many red, white & blue outfit inspiration. I love them all but I especially adore your sweatshirt and red and white stripes dress! I hope all is well and happy Saturday!
Thanks so much, Maureen! It is super weird how quickly time overall is passing by but yet each day seems like it lasts for about 80 hours! I can barely remember what happened in the morning by the time I get to bedtime. Haha. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
