New Cowgirl Boots in Saratoga Springs & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #755

Ever since I bought my last pair of cowgirl boots over a year ago, I have been hankering for a new pair. In particular, I have really been wanting teal cowgirl boots. I found a few different pairs of teal boots from my favorite boot retailers, Country Outfitter and Boot Barn, but it took me weeks to decide which pair I wanted to have.

I narrowed it down to two different pairs…the Corral Women’s Floral Embroidered & Rhinestone Studded Western Boots (the ones I bought) and the Circle G Women’s Floral Embroidered Western Boots. The pair I didn’t buy are so stinking cute, too, but I do not have any boots by that brand so I was unsure of the sizing. My red cowgirls boots are also by Corral so I was familiar with how they fit and felt more comfortable ordering a brand I know despite the price tag being significantly higher. I do really love the styles offered by Circle G as well and will eventually end up adding a pair to my ever growing collection of cowgirl boots.

My red Corral boots are a size 11 and they are a bit too large and require extra socks for a proper fit, so I sized down to a 10 for this pair. When they arrived and I opened the box, the first thing I did, as I do every time I buy new boots, was take a giant sniff of the brand new leather. It is such an amazing scent that I will always love! Once I tried the boots on, however, I did get a little worried because the right boot was uncomfortably snug. But I had forgotten that a good pair of cowgirl boots just needs some time to get broken in. Once they are broken in, cowgirl boots are the most comfortable footwear ever.

Just to be sure I had the correct size, I left the tags on and walked around my house for a few hours in my new boots. It actually only took about 20 minutes for the leather to start loosening up enough for adequate foot comfort. And after wearing them for a weekend in Saratoga Springs, New York, they are now perfectly broken in and so totally fun to wear!

Two weeks ago, my in-laws came to visit during the kids’ spring break so Jeff and I took advantage of the child care and headed to Saratoga Springs, New York, for the weekend. For our date night, we had an amazing dinner at the Olde Bryan Inn then we headed to a Roots of Creation concert at Putnam Place. We really truly had the best date night. The food was fantastic, the concert venue was small and intimate just how I like it, and the show was so much fun. This is the second time that I have seen Roots of Creation perform live and they have not disappointed me yet.

Wanting to take my new cowgirl boots out for a spin in public, I styled my date night outfit from the ground up. Always opting for comfort, I went with basic black leggings and an old teal tie dye shirt that I thrifted five years ago. Next I added a thrifted long lace vest in teal and one of my favorite kimono robes which features a vibrant bohemian print in red, blue, and turquoise.

For my accessories, I wore my red and turquoise scarf which I tend to always wear with this particular kimono robe because they just go together so perfectly. I received this scarf as part of a brand collaboration nearly 8 years ago and I still wear it regularly. My hand painted fedora coordinated well with the colors of my outfit but I ended up only wearing it for photos because the wind was terrible and kept threatening to steal my hat. For jewelry, I wore my old favorite horn necklace, a set of thrifted mala beads made from tiny seashells, my happy Buddha charm that I added to a necklace, and some really cool turquoise earrings that I recently picked up at a flea market.

I honestly felt pretty freaking fabulous in this outfit. The color combination brings me so much joy and all the flowy layers make me feel the most like myself. I did receive a few lovely compliments while we were out and about in Saratoga Springs and that always lifts one spirits, doesn’t it?

When we came out of the Olde Bryan Inn after our delicious dinner, we noticed this really cool September 11 memorial sitting just below where we parked our car so we headed down to check it out. It is situated in High Rock Park which is built around the famous High Rock Spring which gave Saratoga Springs its name.

Below are a few photos of the 9/11 memorial, the 9/11 survivor tree, High Rock Spring, and the various drinking fountains throughout the park area.

It was a much needed date night and we had a super time. We will definitely go back to Saratoga Springs again! What have you all been up to lately?
