Look Good, Feel Good: Small Beauty Touches That Will Boost Your Day
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it’s also something that can greatly increase your confidence when you feel in tune with your physical appearance. Many believe that looking good can resonate with feeling better about yourself, hence the saying, “Look good, feel good”. There’s just something about presenting a polished version of yourself to the world that can make you feel capable, confident, and ready to tackle anything. It’s not about vanity, it’s about self-care and self-respect. To help you achieve this confidence boost, here is a list of small beauty touches you can incorporate into your daily routine.
Frame Your Face With Brow Pencil
Your eyebrows frame your face and thus hold a lot of power in determining how you look. A vegan brow pencil can significantly enhance the look of your brows by filling in thin spots, making them look more defined and polished. Vegan brow pencils are not only cruelty-free but are also often formulated with nourishing ingredients that promote healthier brows. Not to mention, it’s a small step you can take to living a more eco-conscious lifestyle.
Eyelash Curler: Your Eyes’ Best Friend
While it may seem like a minimal and non-essential tool, an eyelash curler can make a world of difference in brightening and enlarging your eyes. The act of curling your lashes works to make your eyes pop, looking wider and more awake, making it an essential tool for achieving that sought-after doe-eyed look. Paired with your favorite mascara, it leaves a dramatic effect that can instantly glam you up.
The Power of a Bold Lipstick
There’s a reason the phrase, “putting on my warpaint” often refers to applying makeup. A bold lip can instantly elevate your look and mood, making you feel more assertive and in control. Whether you’re a lover of red, a fan of fuchsia, or a worshiper of wine-colored hues, find a shade that makes your confidence soar. The simple act of swiping a vibrant shade across your lips is a powerful mood booster and requires minimal effort, making it a fabulous quick-fix.
The Magic of Highlighter
A well-placed highlighter can make you glow from within, giving the illusion of a well-rested, radiant complexion even on those days when you’re anything but. Applied on the high points of your face such as your cheekbones, brow bone, and the bridge of your nose, a highlighter can give you a youthful sun-kissed look, instantly elevating your confidence.
Skincare: Your Best Investment
Never underestimate the power of a good skincare routine, an investment that will pay dividends in the form of healthy, glowing skin. Finding the right cleanser, toner, and moisturizer that fits your individual skin concern can do wonders. Layer on a hydrating face mask once a week for a relaxing at-home spa experience. Remember, a clear and glowing complexion doesn’t only make you physically attractive; it’s also a sign of good health, which enables you to feel better from the inside out.
Don’t Forget the Fragrance
Last but by no means least, dousing yourself in your favorite fragrance can work wonders on your self-esteem and mood. Scent plays a powerful role in how we feel. Just think of how refreshed and invigorated you feel when you smell citrus, or the calming effect of lavender. Find a scent that makes you feel alive, empowered, and invincible.
Incorporating these small beauty touches into your daily routine can significantly boost your mood and confidence. Looking good doesn’t have to mean spending hours in front of the mirror. It’s about finding small ways to enhance your natural beauty and feel good in your skin. Whether it’s defining your brows with a vegan brow pencil, brightening your eyes with an eyelash curler, adding a pop of color to your lips, or investing in a good skincare routine, these small touches can make a big difference. And always remember, self-care is far from shallow. It is a form of self-respect.
What sorts of things do you do to boost your confidence?
Keeping it on the edge,

I do love to take the time to do makeup! Sometimes It can take more then a hour. But also sometimes, or more often actually, I can do it in 5 minutes.

I wear makeup nearly every day even if I don’t leave my house. It makes me feel better about myself and more productive. But my whole makeup routine takes about 5-7 minutes so it’s no big deal!

Great tips. Honestly, the older I get, I am all for a highlighter and brow pencil. Pretty much it with a stroke of blush! haha. /Madison

Thanks so much, Madison! My makeup routine has definitely changed a lot with age. I never needed to do anything to my brows except pluck them. Now I have to draw them on!

Between getting older and thyroid issues, my eyebrows are really sparse. I’ve been giving serious thought to micro blading them. I have never quite gotten the hang of highlighting. I look like a dang lighthouse by the time I’m done! I do love a dramatic lip, though!

Oh my goodness, Marsha, you crack me up! I spent my teens, 20s, 30s and well into my 40s plucking and waxing my thick bushy eyebrows. Now in my 50s, all that’s left are little Charlie Chaplin mustaches perfectly situated on my brow line! Now I have to draw the darn things on! Why couldn’t society just leave me and my eyebrows alone??? I also love the way a bold lipstick looks but I hate wearing lipstick so I only put it on for photos. I hope you are starting to feel rested, my friend!
