Let’s Finish this Countdown….Fall is Coming! (Final Part of Too Hot for Clothes!)
This post is going to be a straightforward outfit of the day post (well 3 outfits to be exact). Nothing less, nothing more. But I do have some meaningful stuff brewing on the back burner right now. So please stay tuned!
I’m not going to waste my time or yours trying to find links to the exact or similar items…because let’s be honest…no one is interested in summer clothes right now anyway. It’s time to move on, fair weather, to the glorious cooler days of autumn. Farewell, farewell, dog days of summer, may we never meet again.
Outfit # 4: Girly Gingham
I put together this outfit to run errands on a less hot day. Still hot, but cool enough for lightweight long sleeves and shorts. I love the coral color that dominated the spring collections this year and I adore gingham, so for me coral gingham is a winning combination in a basic button down shirt. I paired it with a navy tank top and my favorite go-to dark wash denim cut-off shorts. I think coral and navy together are absolute perfection! I accessorized with patterned footbed sandals and a silver statement necklace with navy, coral, and turquoise stones. Then to give my rectangular body a hint of some shape, I tied that shirt at the waist, one of my favorite ways to style a button down.
Outfit #5: Pleasantly Pink
Minimal clothing required for another unbearably hot day! Denim shorts are always a must in my summer wardrobe. This pair has a little extra interest in the ivory lace trim on the bottom. I layered a mini windowpane blush blouse over an ivory tank and added a brown belt and sandals and the same statement necklace from outfit #4. I was comfortable, but felt presentable…and managed to keep sweating to a minimum!
Outfit #6: Chambray Casual
I picked this dress for a playdate at a friend’s house. Again, it was too humid to tolerate much, so it was a perfect day for a casual dress. I layered a black tank under this knee-length A-line chambray shirt dress so I could leave the buttons undone (and keep the children from exposing my private parts!). I added a tortoise medallion necklace and my favorite leopard print footbed sandals to complete the outfit. And off I went! Easy as can be! And it seems that I was in such a hurry that I only took 3 photos!
There you have it! And finally, I think we are leaving my “discomfort zone” for a few months except for a few quick hot days this coming week. Did I tell you I was sick of summer? No more summer outfits on here…until June! Bring on the Fall! What is your favorite season? I would love to hear about your favorite things in your favorite season.
Sitting on the edge waiting for the Fall,
