Inspired by Just Live Joy: Camo Jeans
It is time once again for an inspired outfit. I have not been getting dressed much lately because I don’t always feel compelled to do so when I know I won’t be stepping outside of my house. While I do fully embrace that idea that we feel better when we put ourselves together, I am really quite content in the current environment to stay in sweatpants or leggings all day long.
But once or twice a week, I do need to go outside and breathe some fresh air. On those days, I have been getting dressed and going for walks with the family. Comfortable clothing is an absolute must for these brief outings, but I still try to create an actual outfit that is worthy of a photograph or two.
But super casual outfits are not necessarily my strong point as I do prefer to go a tiny bit overboard with patterns and layers and accessories and all that crazy stuff that really have no essential purpose for me right now. So I look to my blogger friends for inspiration.
When I saw Brandi of Just Live Joy styling her Express Camo Jeans with a simple black hoodie and white sneakers, I loved the simplicity of the outfit combined with that little bit of edge that I usually incorporate into my own style choices. And I had all of the necessary pieces in my closet to recreate this outfit. It was perfect for a short walk in the park with the family this past weekend and equally sufficient for me to be comfortable at home for the remainder of the day.
But enough about the clothes. Let talk about Just Live Joy. Started by two life long friends, Sherry and Brandi, who live in different states, Just Live Joy is all about these two friends sharing their passions and their joys with the rest of the world. Combining their two sets of interests creates an abundance of fun topics on their blog from fashion and shopping to cooking and traveling to reading and religion. Brandi and Sherry cover so many interesting topics that I am sure you will all find something of interest.
I am not even going to attempt to paraphrase their mission because I cannot word it as eloquently and beautifully as they have. So in the words of Sherry and Brandi, their mission with Just Live Joy is “to ignite true joy within and to inspire a journey of the soul. Joy cannot be found. It cannot be bought. True joy can only be found within yourself. This blog is about loving yourself no matter the circumstances. Believe us…that takes a lot of practice. It’s about learning to live with grace, gratitude, purpose, passion, AND having a lot of fun along the way.”
Not only do they have a brilliant way with words and impeccable style, but they live their mission to the fullest. Always kind, always caring, always ready to lend a helping hand. I know this first hand because I have reached out to Sherry for some blogging tips and she was generous with her time in giving me a very detailed response that was ever so helpful. The blogging community is lucky to have these two wonderful women offering their love and light into a world that can sometimes be dark and confusing. For that, I am always grateful. For all of you who do your part to spread kindness and love, I am always grateful.
If you don’t already follow Sherry and Brandi of Just Live Joy, you can find them on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.

My kind of outfit! Today, I used Shelly’s outfit from her blog post yesterday to create my own. I need another pair of camo bottoms, something cropped and with no zipper for spring and summer wearing!

Thanks so much, Mireille! Today I am lounging around in camo sweatpants and a Penn State hoodie. No make up, no bra, just comfort for a very rainy day in NY.

You look invincible standing on that little rock wall. What a flattering fit to your camos. I just ordered a new pair from ON in a lighter camo print. Hope they will fit as well as your pants fit. I have been wearing yoga pants and tees too much. Today I plan to open my fashion haus and get dressed for a change. Stay well.

Thanks so much, Leslie! Yeah, I probably should have chosen a different background to photograph camo pants! These have the perfect amount of stretch and I think that helps with the fit. I am staying in jammies today because it is pouring rain which is supposed to turn to snow overnight. So no need for actual clothes for me today!

I just love my camo jeans and now I need to find a camo jacket. It’s such a great print especially to print mix with. I love your copy!! It’s so perfect.
Stay well Shelbee,

Thanks so much, Jodie! I have another pair of camo jeans that are a little bit different. I need to style them soon, too. I love camo mixed with all sorts of prints like plaids, florals, stripes, and leopard. My favorite is camo and leopard. They are so cool together. I also have a camo bomber jacket that will be on the blog soon. I recently styled it with the same sweatshirt as this outfit and a black leather skirt. What kind of camo jacket are you thinking of getting? I have the bomber, two utility jackets in camo, a furry one in camo, a giant camo wrap/poncho thingy, and a cropped denim jacket in purple camo. I clearly have a camo obsession!
