Inspired by Jaymie Ashcraft: Camo, Black, and Snakeskin
I don’t know how it is that I have never before created an outfit inspired by Jaymie of Everyday Style by Jaymie Ashcraft. I first became acquainted with Jaymie way back in 2015 when we both began our fashion blogs right around the same time. I have always loved the casual outfit formulas that she shares featuring pieces that are easy to find in your own closet.
But if you happen to not have a particular item and you think you might want to buy it, Jaymie also provides links to similar or exact pieces at very reasonable budget-friendly prices. Her commitment to showcasing wearable and affordable outfits for everyday style has remained consistent over the last 5 years. And consistency as well as cool style is what keeps me coming back week after week to see what Jaymie is sharing and styling.
Jaymie is a lover of wine, fashion, and her family, and it has been my great pleasure to get to know her better throughout the years. She always has a kind word to offer whether it is a compliment about an outfit or well wishes on the life adventures of others.
Jaymie lives in Michigan with her husband and her three children whom are all teenagers (or nearly teenagers). Back in 2016, she teamed up with Youngblood Vineyard and they just celebrated their 4 year anniversary. It is fun to watch the progress of my blogging friends as they take on interesting adventures in their regular life. I remember when Jaymie first made her vineyard announcement 4 years ago and I am so thrilled for her success and staying power in a project that she is very clearly quite passionate about.
But let me get back to the inspired outfit. Jayme has an affinity for combining neutral colors and patterns in an effortless and subtle way. I love mixing prints and often get a bit carried away, but I do appreciate the subtleties in pairing more muted colors and patterns. And like Jaymie, I am a huge fan of camouflage. So when I saw her cute pairing of a camo sweatshirt, black skinny jeans, and snakeskin shoes, I was completely inspired to recreate the look.
The fact that I had all of the necessary pieces already in my closet is further proof of Jaymie’s ability to create easy outfit formulas for the everyday woman. She keeps it cool. She keeps it easy. She keeps it affordable. And she keeps it stylish.
If you don’t already follow Jaymie, you can find her on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Bloglovin’. And if you love wine or just want to see how cold climate vineyards grow, you can find Youngblood Vineyard on Facebook and Instagram.

I really like this outfit. Who would have thought camo and snake print can work together – but of course it does if you treat them both as neutrals – which I do. Also I think it works because of the distance between them, with the black expanse in-between. Looking good. Now if only I had some snake booties…. 😉

Lise, thanks so much! I agree that treating them as neutrals helps make the prints work together. I love camo and leopard together as well. There are so many cute snakeskin boots out there! I kind of want another pair in a different color.

Thanks, Jodie! You do say that quite often! Haha. I bet our closets do look kind of similar! By the way, I am so sorry I have not been over to see what’s going on in your blog space. This homeschooling business is killing me and time just keeps getting away from me! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

Ive got that in common, family, fashion and wine! I always think it is wonderful to own a vineyard. Lots of work, but I am sure it is rewarding. Love this combination of camo, black and snakeskin, I love mixing animal prints too! Your hair is getting long girlfriend! You should see mine when I don’t curl it!
Have a great weekend friend!

Thanks so much, Jess! I am not much of a wine drinker, but I can talk about all of these other topics all day long, as you know! My hair is so crazy long! I haven’t had it cut since last June and I really need a trim and a color. It is getting super difficult to color myself now because it is so long. But I want to grow it down to my butt if I can! Only because I have never had hair that long and I think it might be fun to try. You do have really long hair as well, my friend! Have a wonderful weekend.
