Inspired by Is This Mutton?: Bowie Tee
Just last week, Gail of Is This Mutton? published a post, Every Day Outfits-Casual and Work, where she shared a super cool look featuring a Bowie tee shirt paired with all black and a fun pair of statement boots. As soon as I saw her Bowie tee shirt, I was reminded of a similar one that I had forgotten about and had never worn yet. So I took Gail’s post as a sign that I needed to get on styling with my Bowie tee shirt.
I mean, who doesn’t love David Bowie? I am pretty sure just the mention of this man’s name or hearing a few chords of any of his multitude of billboard charting songs, can send anyone who knows anything about music into a silent revelry over some fond memory that includes a reference to Bowie and/or his music in one way or another. Being one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, it is no surprise that two women over 40 living in different parts of the world would be big enough Bowie fans to be rocking out tee shirts that pay tribute to his legacy.
But this post isn’t about David Bowie. It’s actually about my paying tribute to Gail. If you don’t know Gail, you should get to know her! She is a UK-based blogger living in London where she is making great strides in blazing the way for women over 50 to own their style and wear whatever makes them feel great. Gail is the perfect representation of her very own beliefs about women over 50. She is ”vital, energetic and fashionable, and blessed with wisdom and experience.” And she has some serious shoe game that leaves me ripe with desire to just borrow her boot collection!
Gail likes to dip her toes into the latest fashion trends while combining them with styles that suit her personality and the end result is a wonderfully vibrant and eclectic collection of outfits that inspires me on a weekly basis. With a fondness for bold prints and bright colors, my eyes are never disappointed when I pop on over to see what’s going down in London. She also shares lots of fun tidbits about her life as a digital marketer as well as interesting books, television shows, and podcasts she has discovered in her daily living.
Always with a smile and a whole bunch of confidence, Gail delivers a weekly menu of fun fashion and make up tips that not only appeal to her own generation of women over 50, but us younger ones (although I am not that much younger…50 is fast approaching for me) are more than willing to follow her lead.
If you don’t already follow Gail, you should go ahead and do that now. You can find her on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Bloglovin’. And remember this month’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book theme is copy cat looks just like the one I am sharing today! If you have been inspired by someone else to create an outfit that you love, do send us the photos to be featured on February 15.
Keeping it on the edge,

Gosh your hair is so long! And so gorgeous black! I like Gail’s style a lot, she often wears green which I think is a amazing color!

Thanks so much, Nancy! My hair is crazy long these days. I can only wash it every third day now because it is hugely annoying to wash and dry! And I love when Gail wears green. She always has the best shades of green, too.

Gail does have a pretty cool collection of boots! I do love seeing all of her outfits and you have done another amazing job at a copycat look. I am actually wearing an outfit inspired by a post from Carrie at Curly Crafty Mom today! Need to write another of those posts soon, but today’s weather won’t be conducive to pictures. Raining cats and dogs!

Mireille, thanks so much! Gail has some seriously great style, for sure! I love that you have copied Carrie today! I wore another copy cat outfit today as well which I am planning to share next Thursday. We got pictures done just in time before this winter storm is moving in on us. My kids have an early dismissal today due to the weather and will probably have a snow day tomorrow. We are supposed to get about 9 inches of snow, which isn’t terrible for these parts, but also about 1/4 inch of ice, which can be pretty bad.

Thanks so much, Kathrine! I don’t wear my flare jeans that often. It’s weird because I hate the way they look in the mirror, but they usually photograph really well.

Thanks so much, Patrick! I love this spot for photos! It is nice and secluded and it just looks cool. It is an old tank factory from WWII.
