I Am a Published Writer!
It is officially official! It’s really real! I am a published writer. In an actual magazine. And I want to thank Celia of Resilientista Magazine for reaching out to me and asking if I would contribute to the Autumn Issue.
*This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It all began with this post on my blog which was followed up by this post. I discussed the crazy ride I was experiencing with my midlife hormones and how they were effecting my libido. And Celia loved how openly I was addressing this common but taboo topic. So she asked if I would be interested in writing an article for her fabulous magazine that strives to help women live their best lives. Of course, I agreed.
*Top: Who What Wear for Target (Similar here and here).
*Skirt: Very old. (Similar here).
So hop on over to Resilientista Magazine and check out what I had to say on the topic of the Midlife Sex Conundrum! It’s on page 18. You can also find me on pages 8-9 beside some of my favorite fashion bloggers sharing our Autumn Wardrobe Inspiration.
Looking to publish something on your own to share your beautiful words and brilliant thoughts with the world? There are so many places to publish your work and you can even solicit the expert help from Freelance Book Cover Designers to make sure you deliver the best impact.
Don’t want to miss another issue of Resilientista Magazine? You can subscribe right here and future editions will be sent directly to your email inbox!
And if you are looking for more amazing and empowering ideas for living your best life, check out Celia’s blog High Heeled Life.
*Shoes: Leopard Print Stiletto Heels c/o FSJ Shoes.
I also want to thank the super talented Sarissa Melissa Photography for these amazing photos and the photos used in the article (I lost my skirt for the pictures that correspond to the article)! Melissa also created the teaser advertisement that I have been blasting all over my social media…you may have seen it…
I would love for you to hop on over and read my article, Midlife Sex Conundrum. And let me know what you think! If you love the photos there, let me know. Perhaps I will share the entire photo shoot here next week.
And I have more exciting news to share as well! In just two short weeks, I will be joining the most remarkable group of midlife women in New York City at The Forever Fierce Meet Up at Chico’s. This event has been coordinated by the gorgeous Eugenia of The Age of Grace and is sponsored by Chico’s. I will be modeling fashions by Chico’s with these four magnificent women:
Cherie of Style Nudge
Dawn of Plumage 59
Michele of Seechele_styles
Tracey of Chic Classy Spicy
Interested in attending? You can find all you need to know here!
Thank you to everyone who reads my blog and for all of your wonderful comments. It is that kind of validation that keeps me at it. I am filled with so much gratitude for all of the opportunities and all of the wonderful people I have met along the way. Thank you. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Congratulations, Shelbee!!! This is so exciting!!! How does it feel to be a published writer? :)))
I read your article in the Resilientista Magazine and I´d like to say thank you for sharing your experience. I have always thought that it is our responsibility talk about taboos. If we talk about them, it won´t be taboos anymore.
Will you be posting more links of your future articles?
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Helen, thank you so very much for this validation! It was a scary article to share, but I always approach my fears by facing them head on! (And so I did a photo shoot in my underwear just to make sure I faced multiple fears at one time! Hahaha!) If I have the opportunity to be published again, I will most definitely be sharing links all over the place!
