Jewelry

Jewelry is usually a great option provided that you get the style right. Visit stores that will give you advice on which brands and materials are currently on trend. You can also look through your teens existing jewelry collection for ideas of what styles she prefers or you can ask her friends. Personalizing the item gives it a special meaning and will make it a more cherished piece of jewelry.  You may want to consider getting a princess ring that she can wear with every style of outfit from dressy to casual. Smart watches are also trending for special occasions as are monogrammed necklaces.

It is also a great idea to focus on how the jewelry will be worn and how practical it is. Is it a show piece for formal events or a classic item that can be worn daily as it develops sentimental meaning? Either way, it is important to have bhoma jewelry properly fitted so it can be worn comfortably and securely to prevent loss.

Gift Cards

If you simply have no idea about the teen’s taste and would rather not chance choosing the wrong gift, you may want to opt for a gift card to her favorite store. Ask her friends or browse the brand labels in her closet to discover where she prefers to shop and purchase a gift card to her favorite store.  With a gift card, she can choose whatever she wants or needs with your gift. Teenagers appreciate the flexibility and independence to make their own choices as well as the fact that their shopping budget has just grown. Teenage fashionistas are hard to buy presents for, so leaving the choices to them is never a bad idea.

Digital Downloads

Many teenagers get slightly obsessed with their favorite bands, but as quickly as that love grows, it too is fickle and changes very sporadically. If you find it difficult to keep up with your teen’s musical taste, you can opt for a digital download voucher on iCloud, Amazon, or Google, so she can finally afford the latest album released by her current favorite. You have the option of purchasing a universal download, too, in case you don’t know how she consumes music or if she uses iOS or Android systems.

Find out whether she is interested in festivals, exhibitions, or trips and choose a voucher that offers flexible conditions and dates so she can schedule the experience to fit into her busy teen agenda.

Tech Gadgets

Pfft! That doesn’t stop when they get to be 22 and 24 respectively, it just gets more expensive. The last time I asked either nieces or goddaughters what they wanted, I didn’t recognize a single place where they wanted to spend their money. I resorted to gifting cash when they were teenagers. Somehow, they manage to hold on to cash, but the gift cards they lost. Or gave away. Or called me and asked for the receipt. Cash is King, at least with my teenagers and young adults. (I have four). If they want new shoes or jewelry or purses, they just come and borrow mine–permanently. While eating everything is sight. Best to deliver the gift, so they don’t come over with their friends and appetites. If I want to personalize the gift, I just put cash into a wristlet, and a note which they read only after they have spent the cash.

I have found asking them what they would like to have usually results in something I cannot afford. A new Laptop????? I don’t even have a laptop! The best I can do is to keep the fridge full, pick them up late at night when they are unable to drive (ahem), and allow their boyfriends to lounge around on my couch.

    God I love them!

Oh my goodness, Susan! You are the best aunt/godmother ever! I am thinking that they may not show it now, but they appreciate your awesomeness more than they even know! But a day will come when they will show you, for sure.

I like the idea of gift cards, or money. Usually I try and do something with money in a fun way. I put dollar bills in many blown up balloons, and boxed them. The balloons all had to be popped before they’d get their money. We also have done money maze cubes. Then there’s folding money in a fun way.
