Have a Willie Nice Day with Bellelily
I have had a streak of really bad days recently. You know, all that bipolar nonsense that has been exacerbated by this pandemic? It keeps creeping up on me and sending me for a loop. When the highs are high, I feel great. But when the lows go low, I have to find a way out. And sometimes all it takes is a friendly reminder and a cute outfit to bring me back to life.
What better way to remind yourself to have a great day than a punny little graphic tee featuring the likeness of one of my favorite iconic musicians, Mr. Willie Nelson. I mean, the man exudes happiness and freedom and adventure, doesn’t he? Plus he rocks the double braids better than I do!
But enough about Willie, I really do need to discuss the tee shirt itself. I was gifted this Have a Willie Nice Day T-Shirt in my recent Bellelily haul and I could not be happier with the quality of the fabric and the graphic print.
(Disclaimer: This shirt was gifted to me for purposes of this product review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.)
It is a mid weight cotton fabric with a bit of stretch which I absolutely need in a tee shirt for comfort and movability. And it washed and dried perfectly. (By the way, I hang everything outside on the line to dry when the weather permits. The only thing that goes in the dryer is towels because they get all hard and crunchy on the line!)
Sticking with the Willie Nelson vibes, I styled the rest of my outfit with country music festivals in mind (y’all know how much I have missed music festivals this year). Daisy Dukes and a lace kimono with my very newest wardrobe acquisition…these Tony Lama cowboy boots that I found in my local thrift shop for a mere $8.99…were the main components for styling this outfit.
I added a cute canteen style rattan bag that was just $4 from TJ Maxx. And the strap broke after the first 5 photos were taken! I am going to try some crazy glue to repair it. If it doesn’t work, I guess the bag will remain strapless forever.
And then in true Willie style, I added this adorable Vintage Embroidered Floral Hollow Out Hat from Bellelily that resembles a bandana like he would wear. Except it’s not a bandana. The back is like a baseball hat with an elastic band and it is really, really comfortable to wear. I was hesitant about it when I first received it and popped it on my head. It looked awful. But once I put my hair in Willie braids, it was the perfect accessory to add another fun element to an outfit that really boosted my mood!
I have lots more Bellelily graphic tees to share with you over the next week or two, so stay tuned! They are seriously all so adorable and the quality is better than I could have imagined (especially for the budget friendly prices of Bellelily products).
If graphic tees aren’t really your thing, well then maybe we shouldn’t be friends! Of course, I am kidding. Graphic tees are such a great way to add interest and whimsy to a comfortable outfit and I think they are a necessary staple in every woman’s (and man’s and child’s) closet.
If you shop Bellelily between now and the end of the year, be sure to use code SOE10 at checkout to receive 10% off all orders over $40. They offer free worldwide shipping on all orders over $119. The shipping was super fast, by the way. I received my products in less than a week. For fashion addicts like myself, the waiting is always the hardest part so fast shipping is a great thing!
Do you wear graphic tees? And how do you style them?
Keeping it on the edge,

Thanks so much, my friend! You know, the bipolar is just kind of always there. I ride the roller coaster and bitch about it and then return to “normal” again. And seriously, $8.99 for Tony Lama boots is a damn good bargain. I was super excited about these beauties!

Looking so very nice.
Love some Willie. I remember meeting him. I took the kiddos to Hardly Strictly and we was playing and my daughter had to go to the bathroom and she was seven. It had been a long day for both kids. And the port-a-potties were next to his trailer. After she was done, I said let’s hang out by the trailer listen to a couple of songs and leave, both loved that idea. He was about to come on and they announced him and all these people were trying to get his autograph and such. Somehow, we were at the front of the ropes of the aisleway to get the stage. As he was walking to the stage, My daughter yells out “I love you, Willie Anderson”, having no clue who he is. He walked over and made a beeline to her and put is hand out and said “I’m Willie Nelson, nice to meet you”. She shook it and said “Nice to meet to you also.”
People were pissed but over the years, I have thought why he came over to her and I truly believe it was because she didn’t want anything from him. There was this innocence about her and the whole situation.
Sending you positive thoughts and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

Patrick, I freaking love this story! Thanks so much for sharing it with me. And you know, I believe that you are correct in that Mr. Nelson was drawn to your daughter because of her innocence and her not trying to “get something”. People are just people no matter how famous they become and I do believe that even the most famous of people still like to be treated as…well…people. Also, how darn cool is it that you got to meet Willie Nelson?! I hope your weekend is going well.

I had to check out your Willie Nelson tee. When I was a teen, I listened to Waylon and Willie way more than the Stones and Aerosmith! He was a pot head before it was cool, too.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Kim! I love that Willie is not only a pothead, but he has always been a huge advocate for the legalization of marijuana and a proponent of all of the wonderful medical benefits. Plus, the shirt is just fun! Ha.

I am diggin the head wrap! It looks good! I love the tee and the braids giving a nod to Willy!
What a pretty area too. I am sorry you had bad days with your bipolar. I have days I just want to crawl under the covers. Other days I am motivated. I love hearing live music and despite my gallstones, we went to listen to live music Sat. I hope your days are better friend.

Thanks so much, Jess! I was so unsure of this head wrap when I first tried it on, but once I put my hair in braids, I really did like it! Things are going well for now. But I definitely have been experiencing much more frequent mood swings over the past 6 months. I have been getting out a bit more, but not too much, and it seems to help keep my spirits elevated. I am so glad that you got a chance to go enjoy some live music! I am not quite ready to visit any type of venue like that. I hope you are feeling better from the gallstones!
