Guest Posting for Jersey Girl, Texan Heart (Wish List & Link Up)
When my dear friend, Monica of Jersey Girl, Texan Heart, asked me if I would guest post for her while she is off traveling the world (well, Poland, to be exact), I was more than happy to oblige! I am featuring this edgy fish net dress from Torrid over on her blog today, so be sure to click the link to see the full details of my outfit plus the empowering message that I am sharing that was inspired by Monica herself.
I am also hosting Monica’s link up for her today as well. You can add your links at the bottom of my post. Or better yet, go check out Monica’s blog first and you can add your links there!
And because I usually share a wish list on Wednesdays, I figured I would show you some of my picks from one of Monica’s favorite stores, Hot Topic. In case you didn’t know, Torrid and Hot Topic fall under the same parent company which is why I chose a Torrid dress to share on Monica’s blog.

I might just need that “I solemnly swear” sweatshirt! (And I don’t even wear sweatshirts very often…) Loved your guest post. That zero-sum-game/#1 attitude (rather than the understanding that a rising tide lifts all boats) must be just an exhausting way to live.

Thanks so much, Liz! I agree! I agree! I agree! And I have enough things in to cause me exhaustion. I certainly don’t need my attitude and approach to things to exhaust me further.

My sister had a fishnet dress like that in the 80s that I was obsessed with (and way too young to wear)—I’m glad they’re back in fashion. Now may be my chance!

Cheryl, that is a fabulous fashion flashback memory! I remember my sister, who is 6 years my senior, had this skin tight pencil dress in acid washed denim that zipped up the front (in the 80’s as well). She wore it with these laced up strappy black stilettos. I was obsessed with the whole outfit and wore it once in 7th or 8th grade. I felt so sassy and sophisticated and grown up. Looking back, however, I ma am glad the acid washed denim has not come back…although it has certainly tried!
