Getting Ready for Fall with Rosegal
It’s no secret that I love all shades of green, but there is a special place in my fashion loving heart for all things olive green. For as long as I can remember. It is the traditional base color in camouflage, which is also a life-long love. Olive green also represents the traditional color of peace. When combined with shades of blue, there is a strong representation of nature as well as new growth of the forest and of water.
While most people strongly associate Spring with growth and rebirth, for me, Fall has always carried a significant life changing force that touches me somewhere deep inside my soul and inspires me to reevaluate and revise myself in an effort to become new again. Fall is a sort of rebirthing time for me. And as such, I am drawn to all things that signify this time of year, especially colors that represent the coming of the Autumnal Equinox.
When I saw this olive green wrap coat with faux fur collar (I really love faux fur, too), I really couldn’t resist adding it to my Rosegal cart. The collar is detachable which gives me some different styling options. It is constructed from a super soft felt material that is quite cozy. And with the temperatures dropping quickly here in the North Country, I need all the cozy layers I can get to protect me from the bone chilling cold flashes that menopause sends upon me starting now until the temperatures start rising again…in June.
I did try to steam the wrinkles out of my coat before taking photographs, but the material is so thick that the wrinkles wouldn’t budge. I was left with a damp coat from over steaming and the wrinkles were still in tact. Maybe they will fall out over time.
There are no front closure buttons on this coat either. It fastens simply by tying the matching belt. I don’t usually close my coats anyway because I tend to have bulky layers underneath that make it uncomfortable. My only complaint really is that the coat has no pockets. No pockets is kind of a travesty! Coat pockets is where I store my cell phone for ease in checking the time. I guess maybe I ought to start wearing watches again.
Now onto the adorable small flower knit hat with long tail in matching olive green with red flowers on the band. This hat just makes me all sorts of happy. Although my husband said it was a hideous hat and he seemed quite offended by it, but what the heck does he know! I wear hats all winter long and it is nice to have a variety and to add some whimsy as well. This hat fits all of those requirements.

Love olive green! It is such a beautiful warm color isn’t it! And I love your braids too, I wore it like that years ago. Still want to,but it has to grow a bit longer for that!

Thanks so much, Nancy! Being able to wear braids was my hair goal when I started growing it out. Braids and pigtails! You would look so adorable with your hair this way.

Olive green is such a great color and pairs with just about every other color under the sun. I love fall too, Shelbee and I never really thought of it as a time for renewal, but I like that idea. We all need to focus more on the positive side to things and that is one way to do that. Thanks for the inspiration! – Amy

Natalia, thanks so much. We have very cold winters where I live so I have acquired quite a large collection of long coats. I would never survive the winter either without them!

Thanks, Mica! And I hear you, what good is a coat with no pockets?! It’s sort of silly to have neglected the pockets.

Thanks so much, Gail! I have loved olive green for a really long time! Probably because I have always liked military inspired clothing.

Thanks so much, Emma! I think maybe it is a husband thing. If it isn’t a baseball cap or a plain old winter beanie, they don’t understand! I am glad I am not alone.
