Feeling Ever Pretty: One Little White Dress Styled Three Ways & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #232
It has been quite a while since I have had any occasion to style a fancy dress. So when Ever Pretty reached out to me to review a few of their special occasion dresses, I figured right now is the perfect occasion to wear a fancy dress.
A bit about Ever Pretty: Anna Shi, CEO and co-founder of Ever Pretty, had a vision of enhancing women’s fashion globally by producing exquisite, high quality special occasion dresses for women of every style and shape to have a selection of apparel that makes them look and feel as amazing and unique as we all are. The company began in 2005 offering beautiful dress designs on eBay and has since grown to become one of Amazon’s largest suppliers of evening gowns and formal dresses. By 2019, Ever Pretty was selling over a million dresses annually.
With a budget friendly price point, comfort and quality in their designs, and an extensive variety of special occasion dresses, Ever Pretty really has something for everyone. And in that vein, I have decided to share one little white lacy wedding dress styled in three different ways to appeal to very different tastes in personal style.
But before I get into the details of the three different ways that I have styled this dress, I do want to share a bit about the dress itself and why I picked it.
I chose this lacy white wedding dress because I was drawn to the vintage appeal of it. The midi length and the 3/4 length bell sleeves with the lacy overlay reminds me of the styles from the 1920’s which is one of my favorite fashion eras of all time. (Actually, who am I kidding, I love every fashion era!) The fact that it is a wedding dress did not deter me from choosing it either. I love wedding dresses! I always have which is sort of ironic because when it came to my actual weddings, I wanted nothing to do with the whole business of wedding dresses. I guess I am just not much of a wedding person. It’s never really been my thing. Yet I love to put on a fancy dress and style it in a way that it could be worn for any everyday occasion…since everyday is the most frequent occasion and possibly the best reason ever for getting dressed up!
This dress has a tiny bit of stretch in the fabric making it incredibly comfortable for a lace dress. It moves and wears so well. The only downside really is that you definitely need to wear a strapless bra with it. But that is a downside to many special occasion dresses. If you want to wear the fancy things, you’ve got to have the appropriate undergarments!
At a very reasonable budget friendly price of $44.99, it is an absolutely gorgeous dress well worth the price tag. As soon as I opened it and tried it on, I was able to picture it in very creative ways with all sorts of versatile styling ideas ripping through my brain. I settled on three diverse styling options for this dress that may seem rather non-traditional. But then again, I have never adhered to tradition in very many things. Wearing a wedding dress for everyday wear is definitely one of my more non-traditional ventures. And I am having so much fun playing dress up!
Somehow through a tiny miscommunication in setting up this collaboration, I ended up with five beautiful dresses from Ever Pretty. I am ridiculously excited to style them all to share with you. But five dresses is going to take some time to get it all done. Stay tuned for more coming soon…
As for sizing, I just took my new measurements after losing some weight to ensure that I got the proper fit. According to the size charts, a size 14 was measuring an inch too small in the shoulders, bust, and waist, so I ordered a size 16 in all of the dresses. It turns out that all five dress are a tiny bit too big and it is likely that the size 14 would have been perfect. But for now, the 16 works well enough. If necessary, I will invest in minor alterations in the future to get a better fit. But for your purposes, if you fall in between sizes, order the smaller size as all of the dresses do have some stretchiness.
*This is not a sponsored post. This dress was provided to me for purposes of my honest review. I have received no other compensation.
Now let’s get to my versatile options for this beautiful new dress. I apologize for the overload of photos, but I just had so much fun with these that I wanted to share them all!
1. Styled with Pink Accessories
This first styling is actually rather traditional. But traditional styling tends to appeal to more women so I wanted to share this pretty lace dress worn with super feminine accessories. I had initially envisioned white kitten heel booties, but when I put them on it was major frumpville so I quickly ditched that idea and settled on my blush pink/nude lace up strappy stiletto heels. I added a pink flower headband and a bold floral statement necklace in shades of pink with some subtle gold and crystal earrings. It is a fairly simple style that lets the dress speak for itself in all of its feminine beauty.
2. Styled in a Witchy Way
For some reason, every time I see a flirty white uber feminine dress, I want to pair it with black combat boots and other witchy or Gothic inspired pieces for a bit of a punk rock appeal. I know this style is definitely not for every woman, but it is the stark contradiction between the purity and innocence spoken by a dainty white lace dress against the harder badass vibe of combat boots and big bold black accessories that really speaks to my soul. And since I am a huge advocate for wearing things that make your soul happy, I say if your mind can imagine it, then you should definitely give it a try no matter how bizarre it may seem. For this look, I added a black lace corset belt with my vintage inspired black combat boots. (I wore these exact boots with my actual wedding dress when I got married 11 years ago). I tied a sheer black ribbon around my neck as a choker, added some black Gothic chandelier earrings, and put my hair into a high ponytail for a more dramatic effect.
3. Styled for the Country Girl
You probably already know all about my love for cowboy boots and hats and all things Western style. It is a fashion genre that mixes perfectly with my bohemian spirit. Cowgirl styles make me feel strong and free spirited with a bit of whimsy and a touch of badassery. So it was a natural inclination for me to style this lacy dress for the cowgirls out there. My favorite red cowboy boots were the obvious choice with their beautiful white embroidery. I am so glad that I recently picked up this white cowgirl hat as well because it was perfect for pairing with this little white dress. Red leather feather earrings and a leather and pearl lariat necklace suited the whole vibe perfectly.
Which of these styles appeals to your taste the most? If the answer is none, do tell me how you picture this pretty white lace dress styled.
I am honestly not sure which way I like it best. I felt pretty darn fabulous in all three styles!

O.M.G Shelbee…I LOVE this so much! The dress is absolutely gorgeous. And I totally agree with you, why not a wedding dress?! I love how you styled it the three different ways but I’m sure you already know which one is my favourite. I am a closet goth after all lol. The black boots, choker, belt, earrings, high pony tail—LOVELOVELOVE!! I can’t wait to see the other four dresses you were gifted!!

Thanks so much, Suzy! So I did know that the witchy gothy one would be your favorite! I was even going to mention it in the post! I was running through all of my blogger friends trying to decide who would like which of these best. The first style reminded me of Lizzie in Lace and the witchy one reminded me of you, but then the cowgirl one reminded me only of me so I decided not to mention names in the post! Haha. I think you are going to really like all of the dresses I received! Two of them are green and then I have two more white wedding dresses!

What a fun collaboration. I like those kind a dresses with sturdy boots! A bit of a festival look, especially with the hat! Great styling love!

Thanks so much, Nancy! It is kind of festival-ish with the cowboy hat and boots! I always like the contrast of sturdy boots with a super feminine dress, too.

Gorgeously pretty dress and I love the 3 ways you’ve chosen to style. The pretty traditional version is lovely but it certainly needs an added oomph for your coloring so I would repeat some colors from the stronger tones of the necklace in headgear and shoes. So, non traditionally, I would say your second two choices are fabulous and just YOU! And that’s what styling is all about!

Pamela, thank you so much for this wonderful comment! When I go for white dresses, I usually choose softer ivories instead of stark whites because of my coloring, but I couldn’t resist this pretty vintage style. And you are so right that adding some other colors really makes a huge difference. The first styling is probably the least “me” but I did feel very pretty and feminine wearing it! That is the beauty of personal style! Finding ways that make our souls happy! I hope you are having a fabulous week, my friend.

That dress is gorgeous and I love all the creative ways you came up with to style it. I also think it would make a great wedding dress for a 2nd wedding or a casual wedding, it is just that stunning. As far as sizing, I have no idea why, but I can never go by my measurements for sizing…it’s always so big. I just order my usual size and it usually fits.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Amy! I had such a fun time styling this dress in different ways. I seriously could have come up at least 5 more ways to style it. When I go by the stated measurements online, I usually get the best fit. But I guess right now I am firmly right between sizes! I can never just order by size because they are always so different depending on brand and manufacturer. My closet currently has things ranging from Medium to 5XL and sizes 10-18 and all basically fit me. It is so weird. The advantage, however, is that it prevents me from shopping online very often! And that is a really good thing for a shopaholic like me!

Sheila (of Ephemera)
Hark! I spy a Jammy Dress! This lovely lacy gown has many of the hallmarks of a Jammy Dress: classic style, versatile colour or pattern. No pockets, though! I love a dress that can be styled multiple ways – it almost always ensures that it will remain in my closet for a long time.
My favourite looks are the punk-inspired black accessories of #2, and the cowgirl look. I am a sucker for Cowgirl! Well styled, madam, well styled.
Also, thank you so much for the link-party!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Ooh, it is as comfy as a jammy dress, Sheila! It’s all stretchy and easy to move in and very, very comfortable! Pockets would be such a great addition to it! I also love a dress that can be styled multiple ways because like you I never wear the same exact outfit twice. Something always has to be switched out if I repeat an outfit combination! Variety is the spice of life, after all. I require it in all areas of my life! Have the most wonderful day, my friend!

I love a white dress in the summer! I think the first way is the way I would have naturally styled it, but I feel the true you the most in the 2nd and 3rd outfit! More edgy, bold and you def. have the accessories to express that!! The cowboy look is so fun, it makes me want to get a pair of cowboy boots. I used to have a pair and I still have my hat, back in college I loved to go to the country music club! Ha!! Oh, to be young again!

Thanks, Carrie! I had so much fun changing this dress around with different accessories. I definitely felt the most like myself in the witchy and cowgirl looks, too. But the first one made me feel very feminine and pretty and girly and flirty. It might just be a magical dress! You know I love my cowgirl boots! I have found a few really amazing pairs in thrift stores, too. I want to see you all cowgirl-ed out! I bet you completely rock that look! By the way, I used to frequent the line dancing clubs 20 plus years ago myself! So fun. I was never very good at it though.
