The September Issue: What to Wear to a Fall Wedding with Rosegal & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #39
I have teamed up once again with an amazing group of super stylish ladies to bring to you a beautiful array of Fall wedding guest outfit inspiration! I am going to a get a little bit crazy and show you two different ways to style my dress. But you will have stop back on Friday to see the second way which is more traditional and the way the dress was shown at Rosegal.
When I first laid eyes on this dress, it was screaming at me from the computer screen, insisting that I order it and that I pair it with combat boots. And who am I to argue with a screaming dress and its styling demands? I am now just going to overwhelm you with about a million photos of me wearing a formal dress with combat boots. I used the matching belt as a choker and added a wide black belt to coordinate with my kick ass boots. And this is how I am most comfortable in formal wear…with a little bit of edge.
*This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
Many thanks to Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood for coordinating this super fun collaboration yet again! All of her hard work and dedication are much appreciated!

Kellyann, thanks so much for appreciating my quirky taste! I do love the contrast between a formal dress and some combat boots! I have worn combat boots under gowns for Army formals and I even got married in combat boots! It really is just my style. On Friday, I am showing this dress with some fabulous heels though! Thanks for inspiring us and it was my pleasure to feature you. You have fabulous style! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Cheryl, thank you so very much! I seriously have such a fascination with the juxtaposition of combat boots with an elegant dress! I do like the way I styled it with pumps (which will be on the blog on Friday), but the combat boots are so essentially “me”! I appreciate the comment. Thanks for stopping by and have the most wonderful day, my friend.

OMG this is probably one of my all time favourites looks on you, Shelbee! The dress with those boots and the choker and black belt – juste everything about this outfit is simply divine. I love that you gave a posh dress a real edge. You look absolutely incredible.
I’m totally LOVING the dress too – the colour is one of my favourites. I would have chosen the exact same dress too 🙂

Suzy, thank you so, so much for this wonderful comment! I have always loved olive green and I especially love it on formal wear. Many, many years ago when I was very young, my sister’s friend (they are 6 years older than I) made her prom dress out of camo. And I was obsessed! Ever since then, anything in military hues or giving a military vibe combined with formal wear has intrigued me! I couldn’t help myself when I saw this dress but to pair it with combat boots and give it a military vibe. I really appreciate your compliment as I did feel fantastically “me” wearing this outfit!

This is great Shelbee! I loved that you stayed true to your inner grunge, which now translates as edgy! 🙂 How fun are those boots and that green is one of my favorite colors right now. Also, I think it’s pretty darn creative that you used the belt as a choker. Well done!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Chrissy, thank you so very much! It had to be the combat boots for sure with this dress. And I really didn’t like the belt that much worn as belt (but you can see how I styled that way on Friday). I was loving the wide black belt and couldn’t decide on a necklace when I realized the belt would make the perfect choker. I appreciate your wonderful comment, my friend. Such a fun collaboration!

You are always the sweetest, spreading kindness, commenting genuinely, blog-supportive type of gal and blogger and that is you and I have collaborated several times for a year, now. I am a huge fan of olive, especially for Fall so I approve of that Hi-Lo Maxi so much. You added your spin of sass and edginess to this look and made it very Shelbee indeed. That wrap shawl makes it so elegant though. I loved that the dress spoke to you and wearing a black belt, while taking the dress’ belt to wear as a choker, was a genius idea.
I have loved having you as a part of “The September Issue” so thank you and for your sweet words too (*blushing). I also want to thank you for letting me co-host twice now. You are always spreading kindness, Shelbee!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Ada, this is the most fabulous comment ever (I am blushing)! You are super sweet and very kind yourself…well, if you weren’t, then I wouldn’t call you my blogger friend! Ha. Thank you so much for always inviting me along to participate in your fun collaborations. You have such creative ideas and it is always so much fun to play along! And I appreciate your co-hosting my link up with me. Keep up your fabulous blog work and sharing your amazing sense of style and creativity with us, my friend! You rock!

What a grogeous dress! I am loving the fun and fresh way you styled it. I certainly would have never considered combat boots for a wedding, but you are rocking it. Looking forward to seeing how you style it next. Great collaboration and I enjoyed seeing everyone’s take on this theme.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Jennie, thank you so much! I had to go out to the edge on this one with the combat boots! It’s where I am most comfortable. I have worn combat boots to formal events before (I even wore combat boots with my wedding dress)! And it definitely keeps me true to myself. Everyone showed such fabulous looks, for sure!

Love, love, love olive green. Have been on the lookout for more of it for this fall. This dress really caught my eye. The flowy-ness of it is great. The combo of feminine with that punk/goth edge makes the outfit a standout look. The boots were def a great choice, as was that sheer black shawl.

OMG what a dress! Love the color, the shape, the modern cuts!
I have been wearing a dress I call ¨my uniform¨ on weddings (especially on weddings of people I don´t really have a close relationship, like distant cousins), it´s a grey form-fitting cocktail dress, I really like it and It looks good on me and I don´t have to spend hours thinking about what to wear. The only inconvenience is that I always look the same on all wedding photos! 😉
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Helen! There is nothing wrong with having your go-to dress for weddings! I think you should just make it a thing now that you wear the same dress to every single wedding! And take a photo of you posed the same way but with a different background! That would be so cool if you amassed an entire collection of these photos of yourself in the same outfit! Or you can change one subtle thing every time and see if anyone can tell what you have changed between the photos! So much fun.

September is neither very hot nor very cold, that’s why best wedding season starts from this month and ends in March. If you are invited in a wedding in this month, and you don’t know what to wear. Being a designer myself from America I would suggest you the long tunic dress with jeans. Best female’s dressing for such season.

Thank you so much for stopping by, Sarah! And for the wonderful suggestions for fall wedding attire!
