Fall Fashion with Rosegal & Your Own Twist Link Up #12
The shift in seasons signifies so much more than just a change in weather. Seasonal changes are reflections of life and the necessary cycles that come with it. In Fall, we celebrate new beginnings with the start of the school year. We celebrate friends and family with the coming of the holidays. We celebrate abundance with the autumn harvest. We celebrate the earth as she begins her slow descent into the frozen hibernation of the Winter months whereby rest is granted in preparation for new life to emerge in Spring.
Every season is significant in its own special way. Every season is important in the endless cycle of life. The seasons serve as reminders that the natural give and take of the Earth and the Universe is required to maintain perfect harmony. In a world filled with unexpected surprises at every turn, the change of the seasons is one thing that we are guaranteed. We know it is coming, we can rely on the changes, we know what to expect, and it never fails us. There is certain comfort in that knowledge. What has always been will always be.
Most of us have a favorite season. For me, it is Fall. There is something about it that ignites a sentimentality that fills me with nostalgia and forces a new introspection that I may have neglected during the unstructured days of Summer. I feel romantic and loved. I feel revived and energized. I want to breathe in the cool crisp air and sit by outdoor fires sipping hot apple cider while I reflect on what once was, what is, and what is still to come.
With the arrival of the Fall Equinox, I feel more connected to the Earth and the Universe every single year. There is a certain beauty in death, in the peaceful fading away of the vibrant shades of Summer as they make way for the quiet depth of something beautiful coming to an end. And aren’t the endings usually the parts that we await with bated breath, anxious to see what is to come, curious about the outcome of an intense and fruitful journey? We always yearn for the ending. And when Fall arrivals, that is when we get a glimpse of the astonishing grace of things coming full circle.
Fall is a splendid time of year with its richness and glory, with the intensity of the colors that appear in Nature, with the fresh crispness in the air, with the sweet aroma of comfort foods simmering in the kitchen. It simply makes me feel wonderful.
So with the Fall Equinox just 4 days away, Monica and I have decided to share our very own twists on Fall fashion. I live in northern New York State where the coolness of Autumn leads very quickly to a deep freeze long before the Winter Equinox is even on our radar. Monica is in Florida where the temperatures are much more mild. And so you are getting two very different ideas for styling Fall Fashion.
I know that tie dye is more often perceived as a Summer print, but I was drawn to the deep purples and browns in this Drawstring Tie Dye Kangaroo Pocket Hoodie from Rosegal as a great addition to my Autumn wardrobe. I recently shared the pink and turquoise version of this hoodie which will be the perfect tie dye print for all seasons.

What a fun hoodie! Such a nice print, so perfect for autumn. The backdrop is beautiful too, what a nice spot!

Shelbee, this is such a perfect fall outfit. Love the colors. At first glance the tie dye print reminds me of a pattern of fallen leaves! Fall is my fav season as well. Now that I am fortunate enough to live in New England 1/2 the year I’m now able to experience all that is magical about autumn. The colors, the crisp air and the amazing smells!
BTW, your writing is marvelously descriptive and thought provoking.

Theresa, thank you so much for all of these lovely compliments! I don’t think I could ever live in a climate where we didn’t have a typical northeast Autumn. New England is so beautiful this time of year! I am heading to Virginia tomorrow and I was hoping to see some changing of the leaves in the mountains there, but I think it may be too early still.

Looking very nice. Love how you matched the purple tights with the tie-dye which matched the background of the shots. Very cool.

Thanks so much, Patrick! The matching background was entirely coincidental though!

I dove into the deep archives – 11/2011 – for something very Fallish.
Here’s a story you can relate to:
I came “this” close to buying another pair of used Fluevogs off eBay this morning. Before confirming, I thought to check the Fluevog site and discovered that I could get a NEW pair for only $9 more. Plus not sure about the heel height. Then found a Chelsea boot in the same “family” (same heel/sole) in a better colorway. Now I don’t know WHAT to do. ARGH. Wait until “buy it all October”? (I just made that up).
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
“Buy it all October”! Hahaha. I tend it buy it all in November for some reason. Maybe because I start getting stir crazy by then and shopping fulfills some void! Well, I would definitely go for the new ones for just $9 more…unless you can get a lower price from the eBay seller? Tough decision, my friend! Sorry, I am not much help.

Thank you, Amy! Autumn is definitely the best time to feel connected to the Earth followed by Spring. I need to spend more time outdoors, I think!

Wow the place where these photos are taken has breathtaking views. Love this cool chic edgy style into Fall with the dark-hue blue tights, rocker boots and fun tie dye hoodie. And Monica looks completely different but equally great!! Welcome by to see my latest.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Ada! This is just a tiny little waterfall on the outskirts of my town. That is pretty much the entire view because it is a super small place off the side of a highway.

Thank you for sharing on #omhgff be sure to share again.

shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Karren! It was quite cold here this morning…only in the 40’s…so I definitely need to be layering up! I was trying to post a comment on your blog earlier today and it kept giving me an error. In fact, it has done that the past few times that I have tried to comment. I hope you are doing well. I think of you often and send you lots of healing energy, my friend.

You have the best nature backgrounds. THe falls! serioulsy 🙂
I don’t know if I can see the blooper…… (insert scratching head emoji)
Thanks for linking up, Shelbee!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, Sarah! I do live in a place where there is lots of beauty in the nature around me. The blooper is that my husband lined up the photo so the waterfall appears to be dumping directly onto my head!
