What cute invites! We are lucky, as life is back to regular covid 0 here we get to have in person parties again – we had one on Saturday and one on Sunday last week, with another next weekend to go to, haha! It’s such a busy time, but the kids love it 🙂
Thank you for the link up!
Hope your week is off to a good start 🙂

Oh Mica, that is so great! It sounds like you have been super busy with parties recently. It just keeps getting worse here and many of the safety measures are back in place. They just cancelled my kids’ open house night to meet their teachers before school starts next week. Now I am wondering if we aren’t going to end up back at either a hybrid schedule or an at home schedule yet again. Fingers crossed we have a more normal year than last year!

Thanks, Kathrine! OMG, the holidays really are right around the corner! First, I need to get my kids ready for school starting next week! But yeah, Basic Invite has a lot of really great designs in cards for any occasion!

Basic Invite has so many gorgeous invitations to choose from! I love the idea of sending the party favor along with the invite for a virtual party!

Thanks, Jill. They really do have something for every genre. I was scrolling through trying to decide which kid birthday invitations to share and I seriously struggled with choosing because they are all so cute!

I really appreciate how you have provided a great alternative to the traditional party and still included a meaningful way to connect.

Thank you so much, Michele! I really appreciate that. I hope your week is off to a great start.

These are pretty invites! You made me laugh at the lazy host thought. It’s not a bad idea, and you can stil have fun with the online party. Now, how do they share the cake? Lol!
Have a great week!

Thanks so much, Jess! It’s funny because it’s true! Lazy hosts don’t have to do much for a virtual party! Now the cake? That’s a great question. Maybe you send a box of the microwave mug cakes for each kid to prepare at cake time. They take like 90 seconds in the microwave and you have a yummy cake in a cup!

These invitations are super cute! I feel like our state is always changing things so who knows what the future holds lol! This will definitely come in handy for virtual celebrations <3

Thanks, Lizzie! I hear you, we are back in this place where I have no idea what the rules and regulations are and so my anxiety starts to increase. Grrrrr. When I get too anxious, virtual is absolutely my preferred method of interaction. Haha.

Sheila (of Ephemera)
Sigh, sad that our normal still includes virtual events…I’m seriously getting Covid-fatigue. Love these cute invites, though. It makes me crave a theme party!
Thank you so much for the link party! Joining you with my tiger stipes (grr! rar!) and the start of my next art project – very exciting!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, Sheila! I am suffering badly from Covid-fatigue as many of us are, I’m sure. And I want to have a themed party now, too! I wish more people were into that kind of thing. I really like getting all nerdy with themes of any sort. I hope to get around to reading some posts but after the crazy few weeks I’ve had, I now have strep throat which has knocked me on my ass!

Cool Esse
My kids started their first day back in real school today, I have mixed emotions 😳 I hope everything goes okay and everyone stays healthy 🤞 hopefully things will be “normal” this year
Doing things virtually does have its advantages, though, especially the party clean up, like you mentioned!
Thanks for the link up 🙂
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, my friend! I am having anxiety about the start of the school year as well. My kids start on Tuesday, but there is a mask mandate now and I just feel so bad for the kids that they have to be masked all damn day. And then I worry that they will just end up back at home for virtual schooling which I do not want! Although virtual school like virtual parties requires much less in the way of supplies! Haha.

Cool Esse
I have those same worries, like how long do we have “normal” back? My 1st grader got off the bus and said she loved school, so even with the masks she had a good day 💜 I hope your boys love it too!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
My 5th grader enjoys school but hates the masks and my 3rd grader hates school but doesn’t mind the masks! Haha. I can’t win over here!

I did love the parties when my children were young and used to spend hours doing the food, special cakes and yes we had them at gyms and swimming pools too as they got older. But oh dear parties have become so competitive these days. This seems a great alternative.

Pamela, thanks for sharing about your kids’ parties! I feel like kids’ birthday parties have always been competitive and over the top in certain demographics. Thankfully, I have never fallen into the extravagant birthday party trap. My kids have always been happy to have a few friends to the house for pizza and cake. Sometimes we do an experience birthday, but even those we keep to a very small group. Going virtual is way easier and less expensive for me!

I think it would be fun to plan a virtual party for a little one. Or maybe even a bigger one! Like a virtual cocktail party? Oh, yeah. And what a lovely surprise to see you featured my photo!! Thanks so much, Shelbee. I did think of you when I saw the paisley as I always do, cause I know you love it! Lol! I really appreciate the shout out. Happy last day of August, my friend.

Thanks so much, Darlene! I would love to have a virtual cocktail party! Oh my gosh, I should not be typing this here but I am going to anyway…way back in the heart of lockdown, we had a virtual trip party with a few friends! We scheduled a time for us all to take some psychedelics and then we got on a video chat together when the trip began! It was so much fun! We laughed so hard for hours on end!
I love that you thought of me when you bought your paisley dress! I find that I often think of other bloggers when I purchase new things. It is so fun how we know each other’s tastes so well at this point!

I hosted a virtual baby shower for my SIL and it was a lot easier! I missed the personal interaction, but it was better than nothing!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Aw, I love that, Laura! The personal interaction is the best part of a party. But drastic times require creative alternatives, don’t they? And how wonderful that we have the technology to throw virtual parties!

I love getting an old-school invitation in the mail—it just feels so much more special!

I agree with that, Cheryl! Doesn’t everyone get excited to receive something personal in the mail other than junk mail?! I need to get better about mailing things for just that reason. To perk up someone else’s day when they reach into their mailbox and find something special just for them!

Getting creative with our once-“normal” gatherings has definitely been important the past 18 months! I appreciate when people go the extra mile to take care of each other by creating safe events for all. Creativity for the win again! 🙂
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Lisa! Creativity is born out of times like these, isn’t it? It also acts like a lifeline to keep us connected and feeling alive! We humans are very adaptable despite our extraordinary levels of stubbornness!
