Bespoke Jewellery Styling Tips & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #276
We all love bespoke jewellery. In fact, most women have an average of six pieces of handmade jewellery in their collections. Handmade jewellery is generally commissioned for specific events or special occasions because there is something meaningful and sentimental about wearing a unique one of a kind piece of jewellery. Knowing that you are the only person in the world wearing a particular jewellery design can really make a woman feel extra special. Consider some of these styling tips for accessorizing with your bespoke jewellery to showcase your own personally unique style.
Create Layers
With a fashion mindset of more is better, layered jewellery is a huge trend right now giving you the perfect opportunity to create bracelet stacks with your handmade bangles or layer multiple bespoke necklaces together for a unique interpretation of your own personal style. Layering jewellery can add depth and color to your next outfit as well as extra bits of interest and even conversation-starters. If you are looking to add new unique handmade pieces to your jewellery box, you can easily find custom jewelers near you through a quick online search or ask for referrals from friends.
Make It a Statement Piece
If you are looking to create a statement piece of jewellery with meaning, why not consider a bespoke piece from a diamond jewellery store in Brisbane or from a custom jewellery designer in your city. Perhaps your partner gifted you a diamond necklace or custom emerald earrings as an anniversary gift. You can start with a sentimental piece like that and customize it further by adding personalized details.
Think Minimalist
While layers of jewellery are trending, it can be easy to overdo it and add too many accessories. A minimalist approach is always classic and never goes out of style so wearing just a few simple handmade jewellery items will easily personalize your outfits with meaning. Perhaps you prefer to wear your simple custom pieces together like a diamond necklace, earrings, and ring, for a subtle approach to styling your bespoke jewellery.
Mix Metals
Over the last few years, mixing different metals in your jewellery has become not only acceptable but also a trendy and creative way to style your accessories. Gold, silver, and platinum can all be worn together while rose gold and sterling silver also work well in combination. This ongoing trend in mixed metals also allows you to wear multiple bespoke pieces together even if they don’t necessarily match. For more jewellery styling inspiration, check out your favorite style bloggers, influencers, or simply search online.
Avoid Fashion Slavery
You all know those people who avidly follow all the current fashion trends and stick only to what is trending. When you limit yourself to such a small group of style aesthetics as current trends, you seriously impact your freedom for accessorizing. It is much better to take bits and pieces of trends that appeal to you and add your own interpretation to create your own personal style. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your accessories as you may stumble upon the perfect combination by accident.
Keep Your Jewellery Clean
When we decide to wear a special piece of handmade jewellery, we want it to be seen and appreciated by others as well. Therefore, it is important to keep your jewellery clean and sparkling as it will draw attention and compliments. Depending on the metal content and the stones used in your jewellery, you may need different types of cleaning products to ensure that you do not damage your special pieces. Be sure to research the appropriate cleaning products so you do not damage your jewellery.
Add Some Color
Custom jewellery with precious stones like emeralds, rubies, sapphires, jade, or amber can add a touch of color and a bit of splendor to your outfits. You can even purchase loose stones of your choosing and take them to a custom jeweler to help create the perfect design for you.
If you are looking for the perfect custom made jewellery for any special occasion like an engagement, wedding, or anniversary gift, visit a leading jewellery designer to create the perfect piece that can become a valuable family heirloom for the generations to come. Bespoke jewellery pieces also make wonderful graduation gifts as well as meaningful memorial gifts for those who may have lost someone close to them. The options are endless and custom jewellery is always appreciated.

I just bought a handmade ring during our holiday. Not only is it uniqe, it’s also a lovely memory about our time there.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Oh, I love that, Nancy! I always end up buying some kind of jewelry as a souvenir when I travel. It may not always be handmade, but accessories make the best mementos from special places!

Love these tips Shelbee! Classic is best but I have to admit I often lean to maxmalist…and it’s true that it can be overdone. Right now I’m loving a ring that was passed down to – I love herittage pieces most. Great feature!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Lucy! It really depends on my mood whether I go all out maximalist or keep it minimally simple…I am a mood dresser through and through. Heritage pieces really are the best!

These are great jewelry tips! Jewelry is probably one of my favorite things to add to my outfits. You can change up your look so much depending on how you style it, what you mix together, which metals you wear and even whether or not you incorporate a statement piece or keep it simple. Great post!

Joanne
I read this post earlier this morning and was thinking I didn’t have any bespole jewelry and it took me until nearly lunch time before I remembered that while I might not have any fancy made just for me jewelry I do have pieces that both myself and my sister have made special for me!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Aw, Joanne, I love that! I think if it was handmade with intention for a particular person then it should be considered bespoke! Many of the definitions I have found for bespoke jewelry sort of imply that it has to be custom designed fine jewelry to be called bespoke. But you know me, I don’t follow rules. Haha.

I don’t think I have a single piece of bespoke jewelry…unless you’d count the jewelry I bought off of eBay years ago. But, golly, do I love jewelry!!! And, I wear different color metals together all of the time! Thanks for the link up, Shelbee!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
I think handmade from eBay kind of counts as bespoke, Marsha! I guess the difference is that bespoke is custom made to your specifications not just handmade. I have a few bespoke rings. One is a beautiful jade stone set in gold that my sister had designed and made for me about 30 years ago. I never wear it because rings make me feel claustrophobic and that particular sister has lots of real bad energy that I don’t need touching my skin!

I’ve been collecting Georgian necklaces, the type worn by Anna Wintour. They’re best worn layered but at $110 per necklace it’s quite pricey!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Oooh, Georgian necklaces are so pretty! I can picture them all layered up for a really bold statement! Honestly, I don’t even think $110 is that pricey anymore. Cheap mass produced necklaces can cost as much these days!

Hi Shelbee! I enjoy layering – hubby bought me some gold necklaces at Christmas and I layer those. My taste in jewelry has changed a bit as I used to wear more of the trends- large chunky necklaces and such. I seem to favor more simple styles these days but still love the big floral earrings! I do know that leaving gold necklaces on while running and sweating is not a good idea for the metal!
Have a great week!

Thanks so much, Jess! I have found my taste in jewelry changes frequently. I go through phases where I like big bold pieces like Frankie from Grace & Frankie and then I lean toward simple and minimalist sometimes. Do people actually exercise wearing necklaces?! As much as I love jewelry, I actually hate wearing it and I would never wear any of it for exercise except maybe small unimposing earrings. Ohh the feel of a necklace on a sweaty neck, regardless of the metal, makes me cringe! I hope you are having a fabulous week!
