A Very Grateful Easter with Mapiful
I know many people are feeling kind of blue celebrating Easter without massive family gatherings and such. As a military family, we have grown quite accustomed to holidays spent casually at home so this is really nothing new for us. It also doesn’t really make us feel sad at all. In fact, the only thing that is making me sad today is Ralphie’s refusal to participate in anything we have done so far to make the holiday a little bit special. Our memories of Easter 2020 will be less tainted by quarantine than they will be by our family photos missing a kid. But rather than focus on the negative, I am going to focus on gratitude instead.
When we can’t be home with our families for special occasions, we can still feel connected to home especially with a Mapiful print of where our little family originated. Through Mapiful, you can create your own customized print of any place on earth. Do you have a special place that you hold near and dear to your heart? Or perhaps that one place that sits at the top of your travel bucket list? You can personalize a Classic Mapiful print to decorate your home in a very personal and creative way.
*This is a sponsored post. I was gifted this print for purposes of this review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own.
Perhaps there is a special moment in time that had a great impact on your life: the day you met your soulmate, your wedding date, or the birth of your children. By entering the date, time, and location of your special event, you can create a Star Mapiful print that will illustrate the alignment of the stars at the precise moment and location of your choosing.
Maybe astrology is more your thing. You also have the option to create a Zodiac Mapiful print. You can customize your Zodiac print with your star sign as well as the typical personality traits associated with your sign, your birthdate, birthstone, ruling planets, and astrological symbol. With Mapiful, the options are many with 12 different styles available to choose from for each of the 3 different prints. You can also customize the text and choose from 6 sizes.
My new 18” x 24” Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, print is the Classic Mapiful in Asphalt. But if you have trouble deciding on just one print, Mapiful has current offer of 50% off your second print.
Not only do Mapiful prints make meaningful home decor ideas for yourself, but they also are unique gift ideas for a variety of occasions: graduations, engagements, weddings, births, and birthdays. I am certain that anyone who receives a personalized Mapiful print would proudly display it and cherish the meaning behind it.
And so I leave with you this…be grateful today. Even for the smallest things. Like food on the table and flowers in bloom. For sweatpants, tie dye, and hair dye. For time spent in solitude or quietly at home with your immediate family. A holiday is just a day like any other. Be grateful for life and love. Be grateful for family near and far. Be grateful for children when they behave nicely and when they drive you crazy. Practice gratitude every day. I swear it makes all the difference in the world.
From my family to yours, we wish you many blessings today and every day.
Feeling grateful on the edge,
Shelbee

*Edited: Upon finally calming down, Ralph agreed to some photos to show off his green and blue Easter hair. Within 3 minutes after taking photos, his fourth meltdown of the day began. Practicing gratitude (and patience, lots of patience) every step of the way, I am.

Love the photos! You are so right – it’s important to be grateful always. When we take time to stack up all of the things that we are blessed with, I think it really helps us to see the good instead of the bad. It can definitely be more difficult right now with the virus going on, but we can still choose to be positive.
Wishing you the very best week ahead, friend!

We often spend Easter, in particular, alone so this year didn’t seem all that different to us either (other than we couldn’t go anywhere I we wanted). My boys don’t participate in much we do just since they’re all teenagers and that seems to come with the territory… so this was the first year we had egg dying, no egg hunts, etc. We did have a delicious meal together and enjoyed a wonderful dessert made for us by my son and that was enough.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Joanne, thanks so much for stopping by! We have spent so many holidays alone that it really has no impact on us. Military life definitely prepares you for all sorts of real life things that lots of people have a hard time adjusting to. It makes me very grateful for this life. It sounds like your low key Easter was lovely even without all the fanfare!

Very sweet, you this is S.F. hippie likes the tye-dye and The Dead.
So very true about being grateful these days and we all learn a new normal. Thanks for this reminder.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Patrick! We are all hippie Deadheads in this house, even the children. And it really is starting to look like this “new normal” might very well be that…we may never return to our constitutional freedoms, I’m afraid. But we must still focus on gratitude.

Looks like you have an extra place setting there? Or is that the “toast station?”
Maybe the stars just weren’t aligned quite right for Ralphie’s usual family-photo-fab-face? Several solo shots suited his self image more satisfactorily.
YOU GUYS MAKE FOR A WARM, HAPPY, HONEST EASTER CELEBRATION. I love your smiles to bits.
But…. where are the jelly beans?
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, Jude! Ralph is definitely a loner kind of kid! Other than breakfast, we sort of skipped all other Easter festivities. I didn’t want to load my kids up on jelly beans or other candy while locked in the house! Their Easter gift consisted of additional screen time with some virtual money to play their games. And they were happy as can be with that! And the fifth place setting was for our friend who has been living with us for the past few months. I hope your Easter was wonderful!

Love those flower dishes! And glad Ralphie agreed to a few pics! I have been struggling with giving grace to my 2nd kiddos, he does how to push my buttons but I need to remember he is my social butterfly. He has adapted well to being home but I am sure he misses his buddies. Hopefully, the neighborhood pool will be open this summer so he can play with some kiddos other than his brothers.

Thanks so much, Mireille! I went for mix and match dishes when I bought these. But I am getting tired of them now! I guess that’s the way it goes. I am sorry that you are also struggling with a kid who pushes mom’s buttons. They really are pretty great at that, aren’t they? Archie is much more social than Ralphie and I know he really misses his friends. I had high hopes for social interactions this summer, but I don’t think that is going to happen. I hope you all a lovely Easter!

We are a military family too, so I can fully relate. Every holiday is often very random-feeling. Love the map!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, April! Holidays are totally random in the military! That is the perfect word to describe the feeling that surrounds holidays. We have celebrated Christmas on days that are not Christmas more times than we have celebrated it on December 25! I love these maps for remembering where we came from. I think they are a cool idea for military as well to print all of your duty stations and have an entire wall with them. I think that would be look amazing.

Bless you, sweet mama. Motherhood is a grand exercise in years and years of patience. And grace. And lots of love, like no other.
I was a military wife for years and have celebrated many holidays without family. The hardest holiday for me was always Thanksgiving. That one just seems to me to be all about a family. And thankfulness, of course.
The Mapiful print is very interesting. Would be a great conversation piece. I wouldn’t know what location to feature. Maybe where my PC and I met?
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Leslie! We have celebrated so many holidays not even on the actual holiday itself because of military. And friends become more of a fixture at the holiday table than family does. But it gives us a different perspective on being grateful, doesn’t it? I think it would be cool to have a map of every duty station decorating one wall! I hope your week is going well!

What a great photo of the 3 of you! And I’m glad Radical Ralphie came around and agreed to have his photo taken. Mischievous imp! Mapiful! Such a unique idea. I can see where Mapiful products would make a fabulous gift.
