A Brand New Love Story: My Saranghae Skin Care Routine
Back in March when I attended a blogger meet up in New York City, I was so fortunate to meet Susan of The Midlife Fashionista. Not only is she absolutely stunning and full of energy and kindness, but she is one of the most empowering and supportive women I have met. We have followed each other in the blogging community for some time and were already huge fans of one another. I also have a giant soft spot in my heart for her daughter, Alyssa, who writes the blog Lys Takes Flight where she discusses all sorts of topics dealing with mental illness and self care. This girl knows who she is and has a message to deliver and she is sending it loud and clear. When I met Susan, I had this amazing moment where I felt like a super star when she took a selfie of us to send her daughter, stating, “She will be so jealous that I got to meet you in person. She is a huge fan!” Seriously. I am a huge fan of this amazing mother-daughter blogging team! And in true Susan fashion, always ready to help fellow bloggers along the way, Susan introduced me to a new Korean skin care line, Saranghae Skin Care.
*This is a sponsored post. I was provided these products for review on my blog. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
Skin care is not a topic that I have covered on my blog until recently. I have never been one to implement much of a skin care routine other than washing my face in the shower and applying my daily makeup. However, in recent months, I have begun noticing some undesirable changes in my skin. I am almost 44 years old after all and such changes are inevitable. A natural sign of aging is loss of elasticity in our skin as well as reduced production of collagen, the protein that keeps our skin firm and youthful looking. Having been blessed with rather healthy and youthful skin, I never really thought much about these changes so they sort of caught me by surprise. And then Susan introduced me to the Saranghae Skin Care Routine. Armed with information about this amazing skin care company and its 5 step routine, I reached out to their marketing team for more details about how I could work with them. I was met with the most heartfelt and enthusiastic response and before I knew it, I had received this beautiful box of skin care products formulated with unique ingredients that claim to heal, regenerate, and protect your skin leaving you with a firmer, stronger, clearer, brighter, and more radiant complexion within just 45 days.
Two weeks ago, I shared a short video unboxing of my new skin care products. When I opened the box, there was such a lovely little handwritten note inside. It made me feel all the Saranghae love.
And that evening I got straight to using my Saranghae 5 Step Routine.
The Products:
The process:
My experience:
The first few days I was using the cleanser, the serum, the moisturizer, and the eye cream once a day every day. I noticed that my skin actually became a bit oiler and shinier than normal. So it would seem that I did not need as much moisturizing as I was getting from the products. So I changed my personal routine to cleansing, serum, and eye cream daily and moisturizer only every other day. This made a huge difference in the shininess I was experiencing. I applied the face mask only once in the two weeks since I have started using these products and my skin felt so silky and smooth after application. I will certainly be using the other five masks, but due to the nature of my skin I will probably space them out to once every other week.
My results after just 2 weeks:
The problem areas that I noticed before beginning the Saranghae Five Step Routine were some fine lines around my eyes. And my jowls were beginning to sag! That was the one that was really bothering me. Here are some before pictures to illustrate…pay close attention to those areas.
After two weeks, while I have not noticed much improvement in my eye wrinkles, I definitely have noticed a slight tightening in the skin on my jowl line. Tell me if you can see it…
Not so much improvement around the eyes, but I am hopeful…
Overall, I have to say that I am really pleased with my new skin care routine. My skin feels healthy and supple and very, very clean. I am still dealing with some minor issues of perimenopausal acne with my cycle, but topical products have never been proven to help systemic hormonal acne. That’s a whole different story, one that I am still waiting for results to share with you.
Once I hit the 45 day mark of my Sarangahe 5 Step Skin Care Routine, I will share additional results with you. I hope this review was helpful.

You are a beauty Shelbee! I think any time we have a skin care routine that we stick to we’ll see results. I’ll be 50 in a few weeks and yes, I notice my skin sagging for sure. It’s so good to start taking care of the skin you love when you really love it so you’ll keep on loving it!

Great review Shelbee! I could see a difference in your jowls and so i went to take a look at mine and sure enough, there is marked improvement around my jowls and neck. I’ve been using the prouducts since January and I still love them!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Chrissy! I actually was quite the skeptic at first about all anti-aging products. I kind of thought it was a bit of nonsense. But I have been doing so much freelance writing for a few beauty and skin care blogs and learning all the ins and outs, hows and whys, of these products. And I am completely amazed how quickly it tightened up my jowl line. So cool…because that was really bothering me! Have a fantastic day!

I feel like you’ve just opened your first Pandora’s Box of hopefulness in skincare. It just gets bigger and more hopeful with each passing year and there will always be newer products to add to it’s ever brimming over contents.
Loved hearing your voice in the video!!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Jude, thanks so much! Skin care and all that is offered really can be quite overwhelming. I don’t even know where to begin, but I guess this was a good starting point! And it is so weird to hear someone’s voice after reading what they write for so long, isn’t it? You get to know a person through photos and words and then to hear a voice can be quite strange!
