The shacket is one of the newest hybrid terms in fashion right now. A combination of a shirt and a jacket in a culture where we have become too lazy to pronounce full words. I started wearing oversized flannel shirts as jackets back in the 1990’s at the height of the grunge era in music and fashion. I don’t think we were as apathetic 30 years ago as we are now and so we had no problems referring to our wardrobe pieces using full untruncated words and phrases.
